Bro . Warren , in responding for "The Secretary , " said he felt sure that he would have been let off from making a speech that night . Nevertheless , it had given him an opportunity of speaking of his Stewardship for the Boys at the forthcoming Festival , and he was proud to be able to tell them that he should be enabled to take up over £ 200 , a larger sum than ever was yet taken up by a Steward from that district . He thanked the Pattison and the Union
Waterloo Lodges for their gift of 10 guineas each ; their own lodge for 20 guineas , also for the 10 guineas voted to himself . Then there was five guineas from the Nelson Lodge of Instruction , while almost every brother of the lodge had contributed handsomely . He concluded by congratulating the W . Valon , Carter , and Punter , but it was got through , and splendidly , by the W . M and his officers . Bro . C Jolly , who had at the previous meeting been unanimously elected an honorary member , than returned thanks , and assured the W . M . and brethren of his appreciation of the great honour done him .
