E . Booth , whose catering was admirable .

The newly-installed W . M ., Bro . Crawford J . Pocock , presided , and , opening the toast list , proposeel " The Queen and the Craft . " Her Majesty , though not a Freemason , upheld , he said , the principles of the Craft and entered with great sympathy into the troubles and rejoicings of her people .

In submitting the toast of " H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M . of England , " theW . M . said they had all learnt with regret that their Grand Master had not recently been in the best of health , and hoped that he would return from the continent fully restored . The Worshipful Master next gave " Bro . the Earl of Carnarvon , Pro CM ., Bro . the Earl of Lathom , Deputy

CM ., and the Officers of Grand Lodge , Present and Past . " Eulogising the Pro Grand Master and his Deputy for their eminent services to the Craft , he expressed the great pleasure he felt in being supported by such illustrious Grand Officers as Bros . Fenn , Sir J . B . Monckton , F . West , J . C Parkinson , and Kuhe . who , through the Grand Lodge and Provincial Grand Lodges , maintained their great interest in

Freemasonry . Bro . Sir J . B . Monckton , in responding , said the Grand Officers were always glad to visit lodges that had gained high repute from the manner in which they upheld the principles of Freemasonry . He had been pleased to attend ,

not only because the installation ceremony had been performed by Bro . T . Fenn , an absolute master of Masonic working , but also from the high esteem he entertained for their installed W . M ., Bro . Pocock . He thanked the brethren for the manner in which the toast , so ably proposed , had been received .

Bro . J . C . Parkinson also responded , and said that while he endorsed all that Bro . Sir J . B . Monckton had spoken , he might add , as a postcript , that he experienced peculiar gratification in being present , from the fact that he had worked side by side with their VV . M . in the Emulation Lodge of Instruction . He congratulated the Yarborough Lodge upon having so worthy a VV . M . —one who was well

qualified to check any errors that might arise in their Masonic working . In his keeping the traditions of the Iodge would remain unsullied . The officers might think themselves fortunate in having such a VV . M ., and in being able to speak of their work as bearing the " hall mark " of Bro . Pocock ' s authority and commendation . As a Grand Officer , he had experienced no greater pleasure than beingpresent that day .

Bro . W . R . Wood , P . M ., P . G . D ., briefly proposed "H . R . H . the Duke of Connaught , Provincial Grand Master , " remarking that but for those duties which engaged H . R . H . in India he would no doubt have been present . Bro . G . T . Shaft proposed " Bro . the Right Hon . Sir W . T . Marriott , Q . C , M . P ., Prov . S . G . W . in charge , and the Officers of the Provincial Grand Lodge , Present and Past . "

Provincial Meetings.

Bro . T . Billing , Prov . J . G . W ., in responding , congratulated the lodge upon their choice of W . M . He himself looked up to Bro . Pocock as his tutor . The latter , he said , never spared the rod , but yet ruled with fraternal love , and would , doubtless , enter into the duties of his office with energy , and with his whole heart and soul . He regretted the absence of Bro . Marriott , who had been called away .

The Prov . Grand Secretary also acknowledged the toast . Bro . G . De Paris next , in eloquent terms , proposed " The VVorshipful Master . " He said he had been acquainted with the late Bro . Gavin E . Pocock and with their VV . M . for many years . The mantle of a worthy father had fallen upon his son , who possessed great strength of character , and a determination to zealously discharge his duties .

Their W . M . was deeply imbued with the influence of his father and the Royal Clarence Lodge—a lodge that shared with the Yarborough the honours of the day . He believed the brethren would be impressed wilh the strong mind of their W . M ., and said they were honoured in having him at their head . He trusted his Masonic knowledge of power would be put to the test during the year . It was the first

tune the Yarborough Lodge had been governed by one had been W . M of another lodge , and he expressed the hope that Bro . Pocock would long live in the affection of Freemasons . The VV . M ., on rising to respond , was enthusiastically received . He said that after Bro . De Paris ' s speech he had nothing to say . He wished to assist them in their working , and should be pleased if his help affected any improvement .

Thanking the visitors for their attendance , he remarked that heshould endeavour to rule the lodge , not with a rod of iron , but firmly ; and that he should strive to make friends , not enemies , so that on the close of the year they would not regret that they had put him in the chair . Bro . the Rev . E . Walker proposed "The Visitors , " to

which Bros . F . West , W . Kuhe , R . Clowes , and W . Sendall responded . The VV . M . proposed " The Past Alasters . " The VV . M ., he said , was the head of the lodge , but the P . M . ' s were its backbone . Bros . B . Lomax and Seymour Burrows acknowledged the toast .

The VV . M . next gave the toast of " The Officers of the ' Lodge , " describing them as the sinews . He expressed the hope that they would well work happily together , and spoke in high terms of the excellent work of the Secretary , Bro . G . De Paris . Bros . G . Hallett , S . W ., and Dowson , I . C , responded .

Ihe toast of "The Initiate , " proposed by the W . M ., was acknowledged by Bro . Stephens . The Tyler ' s toast completed the list .

During the evening a pleasing programme of vocal music was sustained by Miss Minnie Freeman , Miss Darlington , and Mr . C . T . West . Bro . W . Kuhe also contributed a pianoforte solo .
