In the case of a brother who was relieved vvith , £ 30 to assist him to go to Australia , and who had been seen by Bro . Dr . Jabez Hogg , P . G . D ., as he had an affection of the eyes , Dr . Hogg had written to him ( Bro . Grey ,

stating that the assistance rendered was most timely , and that thc brother desired his thanks to bc expressed to the Board . The President stated that he , on receiving the letter and finding the poor brother wanted tu leave for Australia immediately , authorised the payment of the money at once , and the brother had since sailed .

The brethren then confirmed , £ 200 worth of grants recommended to the Grand Alaster at the JamwO ' meeting . There were 23 new cases on the list , which was a most favourable reduction of the ordinary number . These were qualified through lodges in the London district , and at Uitenhage ( South Africa ) ,

Aldershot , Bath , Whitstable , Liverpool , Italy , BraJi ' i Eastbourne , Norwich , Rochester , Belper , Devonporl , and Eccleshill . The number of years subscription to lodges was ' some cases large .
