Bro . E . Anderson , P . M ., said that it afforded him very much pleasure to be there , as the name of their lodge and of the lodge of instruction brought to his mind many happy recollections . It was an honoured one , and as such would be handed down to posterity , and as one who had worked hard in everything to promote the interests of Freemasonry . Bro . Stephens , P . saying that he would have a brilliant year of office , and the lodge would not suffer at his hands . Bro . J . T . Penney also replied in appropriate terms . The Worshipful Master gave "The Treasurer and Secretary , " observing that they were two splendid officers , and they looked forward to their being appointed year after year , as they could not do without them . Then , as to Bro . Sack , the Treasurer , he had been a member for many years , being the first initiate of the lodge . Bro . A . Sack , P . M ., Treas ., responded . He had stated on many occasions that
they would have two excellent Masters in Bros . Woodthorpe and Sibley , and as to the former , he had had a brilliant year of office , and was succeeded by one who was an excellent worker of the ritual , and who would maintain the good fellowship and brotherly love that existed in the lodge . They were indebted to Bro . Anderson , their able Preceptor , for the way he had turned out Bro . Woodthorpe , who was one of his pupils .
