( an obituary notice of whom appeared in our last issue ) , and moved "That a letter of condolence be sent to his widow and family sincerely and heartily sympathising with them in their bereavement . "

The motion was seconded by Comp . J . L . Lewis , and carried unanimously . There being no further business , the chapter was closed . At the social board "The Health of Comp . George Sam Smith , the Newly-exalted Companion , " was proposed by the M . E . Z . and heartily drunk ; and Comp . Smith replied in suitable terms . "The Visitors" was also proposed , and responded to by Comps . Lisenden and Wilson .
