He has held the oflice of Grand Chaplain in the Province of Wiltshire ( 1884 and 1891 ) , in that of Somersetshire in 188 9 and 1890 , and in that of Oxfordshire in 1892 , while during the present year he is Prov . S . G . W . of the first-named Province . He was exalted in the Methuen Chapter , No . 1 533 , Marlborough , on the 12 th February , 1884 , and was last year installed M . E . M . of the Royal Sussex Lodge , No . 177 , Bath , and was appointed one of the Grand Chaplains of that Degree last year . He served as Festival Steward at the Jubilee of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in February , 1892 , and for the Girls' School in the May next ensuing .
Bro . the Rev . Canon BULLOCK is a Mason of some 34 years' standing , having been initiated while an undergraduate at Oriel College in the Apollo University Lodge , No . 357 , Oxford , on the 25 th May , 1859 , but he does not appear to have taken an active part in our proceedings till 188 3 , when he joined the Goderich
Lodge , No . 1211 , Leeds . After working his way through the different offices , he was installed W . M . in April , 1890 , and re-installed in the same month of the following year . In 1884 he was appointed Prov . Grand Chaplain of West Yorkshire , and in 1888 he served as Steward at the Centenary of the Royal Masonic Institution for GirJs .

He has served for some time on the Board of General Purposes , and has rendered essential services to the Masonic Institutions , having served sundry Stewardships in their behalf , and qualified as Vice-President of the three . He was initiated in the Royal Gloucestershire Lodge , No . 839 , on the 4 th March , 1870 , and was elected to the chair in 1882 and again in 1884 . He joined Foundation Lodge , No . 82 , Cheltenham , in 1872 , and the Royal Union Lodge , No . 246 , meeting in the same town , in 1886 , and served as W . M . of the latter in 1887 arid 1 S 88 . He was appointed Prov . J . G . Warden of
Gloucestershire in 18 S 4 , and four years later was chosen by the Prov . G . Master , Bro . Sir M . E . Hicks-Beach , Bart ., M . P ., to fill the very responsible office of Dep . P . G . M . In the Royal Arch Degree he has won corresponding distinction . He was exalted in the Chapterof Unanimity , No . 82 , Cheltenham , in December , 1871 , and installed First Principal in 1885 , while the year following he presided in the same capacity over the Royal Gloucestershire Chapter , No . 839 . In the Order of the Temple he is a P . E . P . of the Cotteswold Preceptory of St . Angustin , Cheltenham , having presided as E . P . in 18 79 and 1880 , and again in 1889 , and is Prov . Chancellor of the Provincial Priory of Bristol and Gloucestershire , while in the Ancient and
Accepted Rite he is Past M . W . S . and Treasurer and Recorder of the St . Thomas ' s Chapter of Rose Croix , No . 49 , Gloucester , and has had conferred upon him the 31 . As for our Institutions , there are few brethren who have exerted themselves more consistently , and , at the same time , more successfully , while each Institution in turn has received the benefit of his support . He is a Vice-Patron of the Girls' School , for which he has five times acted as Steward , a Patron of the Boys' School , and a Vice-Patron of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , the Stewardships he has served for the last two having been nine and seven respectively .
JUNIOR GRAND DEACONS . Bro . CLEMENT GODSON , M . D ., was initiated under the Scottish Constitution , in Lodge St . Macher , No . 54 , Aberdeen , on the 10 th of June , 1872 . In April , 1878 , he was elected a joining member of the Studholme Lodge , No . 1591 , and two months later , of the Prince of Wales Lodge , No . 259 . He served as W . M . of the former in 1 S 85 , and represented the latter on the Board of General Stewards , of which he was President in 1892 . He was exalted in the St . Macher Chapter , No . S 4 ,
Aberdeen , in August , 1872 , and having joined the English Constitution , was installed M . E . Z . of the Studholme Chapter , No . 1591 , in 1889 . He is the present Z . of the Prince of Wales Chapter , No . 259 . Bro . PHILIP H . WATERLOW was initiated in the Athena ; um Lodge , No . 1491 , on the 17 th June , 1874 , and in May , 1881 , had the good fortune to be installed its W . M . He joined the St . Andrew ' s Lodge , No . 231 , in May , 1884 , and the St . Albans , No . 29 , in 1887 . He represented the latter on the Board of Grand Stewards during the year 1891-2 , and was installed its W . M . in January , 1892 . He
was exalted in the Orpheus Chapter , No . 1706 , in November , 1884 , and was installed First Principal in 1890 . He has taken the 30 ° in the Ancient and Accepted Rite , and is a member of the Grand Metropolitan Chapter , No . 1 , Rose Croix . P ., was initiated in the Callender Lodge , No . 1053 , Manchester , on the 14 th June , 1866 , and having made rapid progress through the minor offices , was installed W . M . in 1870 . In 186 9 he assisted in founding the Travellers Lodge , No . 1253 , and was elected a joining member and afterwards became W . M . of the Lodge of Fortitude , No . 64 . He has been also successively
Prov . G . D . and Prov . G . W . of East Lancashire , while , as regards the Royal Arch , he was exalted in the Social Chapter , No . 62 , Manchester , and presided as M . E . Z . of a chapter . He is a Life Governor of the Girls' School and a Vice-President of the Boys' School and Benevolent Institution , and has served as Steward twice for the Girls' School , five times for the Boys' School , and at the Jubilee last year and on two other occasions for the Old People .
GRAND SUPERINTENDENT OF WORKS . Bro . J AMES EDMESTON , who succeeds Bro . Charles Barry in the office of Grand Superintendent of Works , was initiated in the Canterbury Lodge , No . 1635 , on the 20 th March , 1877 , and was installed its W . M . in November , 1883 . He was also for a short time a member of the Shadwell Clerke Lodge , No . 1910 . He was exalted to the Royal Arch Degree in the Friends-in-Council Chapter , No . 1383 , in
1879 , and the following year joined the British Chapter , No . 8 . He acted as Steward for the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls in 188 4 , and again at the Centenary Festival in 1888 , and is a Life Governor of that Charity , and a Life Subscriber of the Boys' School . Bro . R . V . VASSAR -SMITH is one of the most prominent members of the Order in the Province of Gloucestershire , of which for some time past he has been the Dep . P . G . Master . He was initiated in the Royal Gloucestershire Lodge , No . 839 , on the 4 th March , 1870 , and was elected to the chair in 1882 and again in 1884 . He joined Foundation Lodge , No . 82 , Cheltenham , in 1872 , and the Royal Union Lodge , No . 246 , meeting in the same town , in 1886 , and served as W . M . of the latter in 1887 arid 1 S 88 . He was appointed Prov . J . G . Warden of
Gloucestershire in 18 S 4 , and four years later was chosen by the Prov . G . Master , Bro . Sir M . E . Hicks-Beach , Bart ., M . P ., to fill the very responsible office of Dep . P . G . M . In the Royal Arch Degree he has won corresponding distinction . He was exalted in the Chapterof Unanimity , No . 82 , Cheltenham , in December , 1871 , and installed First Principal in 1885 , while the year following he presided in the same capacity over the Royal Gloucestershire Chapter , No . 839 . It was in consequence of the establishment of this latter chapter in 1883 that Gloucestershire was
constituted a Royal Arch Province , with Comp . Sir M . E . Hicks-Beach , Bart ., as its first Grand Superintendent , and Comp . Vassar-Smith , since 1888 , has held the post of Prov . Grand H . In Mark Masonry he is P . M . of the Cheltenham and Keystone Lodge , No . 10 , P . P . S . G . W . of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire , and a Past G . M . O . of the Mark Grand Lodge . In the Order of the Temple he is a P . E . P . of the Cotteswold Preceptory of St . Angustin , Cheltenham , having presided as E . P . in 18 79 and 1880 , and again in 1889 , and is Prov . Chancellor of the Provincial Priory of Bristol and Gloucestershire , while in the Ancient and
Accepted Rite he is Past M . W . S . and Treasurer and Recorder of the St . Thomas ' s Chapter of Rose Croix , No . 49 , Gloucester , and has had conferred upon him the 31 . As for our Institutions , there are few brethren who have exerted themselves more consistently , and , at the same time , more successfully , while each Institution in turn has received the benefit of his support . He is a Vice-Patron of the Girls' School , for which he has five times acted as Steward , a Patron of the Boys' School , and a Vice-Patron of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , the Stewardships he has served for the last two having been nine and seven respectively .
JUNIOR GRAND DEACONS . Bro . CLEMENT GODSON , M . D ., was initiated under the Scottish Constitution , in Lodge St . Macher , No . 54 , Aberdeen , on the 10 th of June , 1872 . In April , 1878 , he was elected a joining member of the Studholme Lodge , No . 1591 , and two months later , of the Prince of Wales Lodge , No . 259 . He served as W . M . of the former in 1 S 85 , and represented the latter on the Board of General Stewards , of which he was President in 1892 . He was exalted in the St . Macher Chapter , No . S 4 ,
Aberdeen , in August , 1872 , and having joined the English Constitution , was installed M . E . Z . of the Studholme Chapter , No . 1591 , in 1889 . He is the present Z . of the Prince of Wales Chapter , No . 259 . He is a Life Governor of the Boys ' School and Benevolent Institution , having served as Steward for the former in 1887 , and for the latter in 188 9 , while he is a Vice-President of the Girls' School , and has served three Stewardships on its behalf , and will act in the same capacity at the Festival which will take place on the 17 th prox .
Bro . PHILIP H . WATERLOW was initiated in the Athena ; um Lodge , No . 1491 , on the 17 th June , 1874 , and in May , 1881 , had the good fortune to be installed its W . M . He joined the St . Andrew ' s Lodge , No . 231 , in May , 1884 , and the St . Albans , No . 29 , in 1887 . He represented the latter on the Board of Grand Stewards during the year 1891-2 , and was installed its W . M . in January , 1892 . He
was exalted in the Orpheus Chapter , No . 1706 , in November , 1884 , and was installed First Principal in 1890 . He has taken the 30 ° in the Ancient and Accepted Rite , and is a member of the Grand Metropolitan Chapter , No . 1 , Rose Croix . As for the Charities , he is a Vice-President of all three , and has served four Stewardships for the Girls' School , three for the Boys' School , and four for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution .
Bro . J . W . MACLURE , M . P ., was initiated in the Callender Lodge , No . 1053 , Manchester , on the 14 th June , 1866 , and having made rapid progress through the minor offices , was installed W . M . in 1870 . In 186 9 he assisted in founding the Travellers Lodge , No . 1253 , and was elected a joining member and afterwards became W . M . of the Lodge of Fortitude , No . 64 . He has been also successively
Prov . G . D . and Prov . G . W . of East Lancashire , while , as regards the Royal Arch , he was exalted in the Social Chapter , No . 62 , Manchester , and presided as M . E . Z . of a chapter . He is a Life Governor of the Girls' School and a Vice-President of the Boys' School and Benevolent Institution , and has served as Steward twice for the Girls' School , five times for the Boys' School , and at the Jubilee last year and on two other occasions for the Old People .
GRAND SUPERINTENDENT OF WORKS . Bro . J AMES EDMESTON , who succeeds Bro . Charles Barry in the office of Grand Superintendent of Works , was initiated in the Canterbury Lodge , No . 1635 , on the 20 th March , 1877 , and was installed its W . M . in November , 1883 . He was also for a short time a member of the Shadwell Clerke Lodge , No . 1910 . He was exalted to the Royal Arch Degree in the Friends-in-Council Chapter , No . 1383 , in
1879 , and the following year joined the British Chapter , No . 8 . He acted as Steward for the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls in 188 4 , and again at the Centenary Festival in 1888 , and is a Life Governor of that Charity , and a Life Subscriber of the Boys' School . He is also a member and P . M . W . S . of the Oxford and Cambridge University Chapter of Rose Croix , No . 45 on the roll of the Ancient and Accepted Rite .
DEPUTY GRAND DIRECTOR OF CEREMONIES . Bro . S . G . KIRCHIIOFKER , M . A ., F . R . G . S ., F . G . S ., who has been appointed tho ' principal aide to Bro . Sir Albert W . Woods . G . D . C , is a Mason of over 20 years ' standing and has taken a very active part in the work of the Craft in more than one Province and more than one field of Masonic labour . He was initiated , while yet a minor , in the Isaac Newton University Lodge , No . 859 , Cambridge , on the 20 th May , 1871 . In 1874 he became founder and first Master of the Alma Mater Lodi ? e .
No . 1492 , which during the first ten years of its existence met at Bletchley , Bucks , in the old Province of Berks and Bucks , but which in 1884 was transferred to its present quarters in Cambridge . Three years later he had a hand in founding the Albert Edward Lodge , No . 1714 , Camberley , in the Province of Surrey , and in 1881 he was the principal founder and first W . M . of the Wellesley Lodge , No . 1899 , meeting at Sandhurst in the county of Berks . In 1885 he was elected a member of the Correspondence Circle of the Quatuor Coronati Lodge , No . 2076 . For the
