An excellent programme of music was rendered , under the direction of Bro . James Bayne , who presided in a very efficient manner at the pianoforte .

It was then resolved unanimously that the thanks of the lodge be given to the Grand Registrar for his kindness in undertaking the duties of Installing officer , and that he be elected an honorary
member of the Lodge . In acknowledging the vote , Bro . Philbrick expressed his pleasure in visiting the lodge , and accepting the invitation of the l . P . M . to instal his successor . A handsome P . M . ' s jewel was then presented to the l . P . M . in recognition of the services he had rendered to the lodge during his year of office as W . M . " Hearty good wishes" having been given to the W . M . by the
numerous visitors , the Iodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the Queen ' s Salon for the banquet , which was served in Bro . Hamp's usual style . The loyal and Masonic toasts having been given and duly honoured , Bro . Philbrick , G . R ., in reply to the toast of the Grand Officers , gave a few words of commendation and excellent advice , which were heartily appreciated .
The Health of the W . M . " having been received and suitably acknowledged , Bro . Terry was called upon to reply for the Masonic Institutions , and after advocating the claims of all , and of the R . M . B . I . in particular , urged upon the brethren the necessity of their heartily supporting their W . M ., who had , in accordance with "Coborn" custom , undertaken a Stewardship of his Institution at the forthcoming Festival . The W . M . in proposing " The Visitors , " expressed his
gratification at seeing so many around him . In reply , Bro . J . K . Coleman , W . M . 907 , dwelt upon the connection of that lodge with its scion , the Coborn , and expressed his gratification at its success and prosperity . Bro . J . Salmon , P . G . R . Essex , and Bro . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and responded to , and a very agreeable evening was spent . Bro . Chevalier Bach kindly performed several solos on the pianoforte , which gave great pleasure to the brethren . Bros . Harris and Husey also contributed , by songs and recitations , to the pleasures of the evening .
WHARTON LODGE ( No . 2045 ) . —This young and prosperous lodge held its first meeting for the season , on Tuesday , 15 th inst ., at the White Hart Hotel , Willesden . S . W ., and W . Thomas , J . W . After the reading of the minutes of last meeting , Bros . Farndon and Willard were raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M . ' s , when Bro . D . Stroud , S . W . was installed into the chair of K . S ., the ceremony being very impressively performed by Bro . Gawith , I . P . M ., Bro . W . Side , P . M ., delivering the charges . The W . M . then appointed and invested his

Afterwards the brethren adjourned to the banquet table , and having partaken of a very recherche dinner ; the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by the VV . M ., and heartily responded to by the brethren . The musical arrangements were under the direction of Bro . Knight-Smith , whose eminent talents as a musician , were thoroughly appreciated by the brethren , and added much to the enjoyment and pleasure of the evening .
WOOLWICH . —Union Waterloo Lodge ( No . 13 ) . —The usual monthly meeting of the above ancient lodge took place on Wednesday , the 9 th inst ., at the Masonic Hall , William-street , when Bro . A . Jolly ' s list for the Benevolent Institution , The lodge was then closed , and the brethren partook of refreshment , after which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , and some excellent singing enlivened the proceedings .

BATH . —Royal Cumberland Lodge ( No . 41 ) . — A meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , on Thursday evening , the 3 rd inst ., and was largely attended , between 30 and 40 Past Masters being present . Bro . Wm . Pead , the retiring W . M . of the lodge , installed Bro . T . E . Wilton as W . M . for the ensuing year . The newly-made W . M . having appointed his officers , the Iodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the Grand Pump Room
Hotel for the annual banquet . Between 50 and 60 sat down , including the V . W . D . P . G . M ., Bro . R . C Else , and brethren from the Provinces of Bristol , Cheltenham , Scotland , Manitoba , & c During the evening the Bath City Band played a choice selection of music , and Herr van Pra ' ag charmed those present with two violin solos . The proceedings were altogether of a highly successful character .
IPSWICH . —St . Luke ' s Lodge ( No . 225 ) . —The regular monthly meeting of this lodge was held on the 9 th inst ., at the Freemasons' Hall , Soane-street . Bro . T . J . Noble , W . M ., presided , and was supported by Bros . Whitehead , P . M . ; Abbott , P . M . ; and Cook , l . P . M . After the reading of the minutes Bros . VV . J . Leggett and Whitehead were raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M .
The ceremony in the first case was performed in a most impressive manner , partly by the W . M . and completed by Bro . Abbott , P . M . ; while in the case of Bro . Whitehead , the ceremony was carried out in a manner equally impressive by that well known Mason , the uncle of the candidate . The working tools were explained by Bro . Cook , l . P . M , and the traditional history most effectively narrated
by Bro . Abbott , P . M . In the absence of the S . D . the duties of that office were efficiently performed by Bro . Napier , P . M ., while Bro . Brook , P . M ., acted as D . C . The W . M . read the circular letter from Bro . the Earl of Carnarvon , ProG . M ., respecting the Masonic celebration of the Queen's Jubilee , and after a short discussion it was resolved that " this lodge approves of the suggestions
contained in the circular . " A circular letter was also read by the W . M . directing the attention of the lodge to the proposed presentation to Bro . F . Binckes , Secretary of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , after 25 years' service in that capacity . Bro . Abbott , P . M ., spoke of the labours performed by Bro . Binckes in the cause of Masonry , especially the success which has marked the management of
the Boys' Institution since he had been elected Secretary , and proposed that the sum of one guinea should be voted by the lodge to the Presentation Fund . This was seconded by Bro . Brook , P . M ., who observed that , although the sum was small , he trusted that it would be accepted as an indication that while the lodge fully appreciated the services o £ . Bro . Binckes , yet that the calls upon their funds were so
numerous at the present time , that they were unable to give more . An amendment was proposed to increase the vote to three guineas j but it met with no support , and the original resolution was carried " nem . con . " Another letter was read announcing the approaching marriage of Miss Martyn , daughter of Bro . the Rev . C . J . Martyn , D . P . G . M ., and stating that it had been decided by the brethren in the
Province of Suffolk , to mark their appreciation of the esteem in which he was held , that a wedding present should be made to his daughter . Several of the brethren present spoke in eulogistic terms of the D . P . G . M ., and it was decided that a subscription list should be at once opened for those who cared to subscribe .
Subsequently the brethren adjourned to another room , where the usual repast was spread and done justice to . On the removal of the cloth , the customary loyal and Masonic toasts were given from the chair and duly honoured . In reply to the toast of "The Visitors , " Bros . Pettitt , P . M . 388 , P . P . A . G . D . C , and Meech , S . D . 23 C 1 , returned thanks for the hospitalitv of the lodge .

The loyal and Masonic toasts having been given and duly honoured , Bro . Philbrick , G . R ., in reply to the toast of the Grand Officers , gave a few words of commendation and excellent advice , which were heartily appreciated .
The Health of the W . M . " having been received and suitably acknowledged , Bro . Terry was called upon to reply for the Masonic Institutions , and after advocating the claims of all , and of the R . M . B . I . in particular , urged upon the brethren the necessity of their heartily supporting their W . M ., who had , in accordance with "Coborn" custom , undertaken a Stewardship of his Institution at the forthcoming Festival . The W . M . in proposing " The Visitors , " expressed his
gratification at seeing so many around him . In reply , Bro . J . K . Coleman , W . M . 907 , dwelt upon the connection of that lodge with its scion , the Coborn , and expressed his gratification at its success and prosperity . Bro . J . Salmon , P . G . R . Essex , and Bro . Bro . Wm . Pead , the retiring W . M . of the lodge , installed Bro . T . E . Wilton as W . M . for the ensuing year . The newly-made W . M . having appointed his officers , the Iodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the Grand Pump Room
Hotel for the annual banquet . Between 50 and 60 sat down , including the V . W . D . P . G . M ., Bro . R . C Else , and brethren from the Provinces of Bristol , Cheltenham , Scotland , Manitoba , & c During the evening the Bath City Band played a choice selection of music , and Herr van Pra ' ag charmed those present with two violin solos . The proceedings were altogether of a highly successful character .
IPSWICH . —St . Luke ' s Lodge ( No . 225 ) . —The regular monthly meeting of this lodge was held on the 9 th inst ., at the Freemasons' Hall , Soane-street . Bro . T . J . Noble , W . M ., presided , and was supported by Bros . Whitehead , P . M . ; Abbott , P . M . ; and Cook , l . P . M . After the reading of the minutes Bros . VV . J . Leggett and Whitehead were raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M .
The ceremony in the first case was performed in a most impressive manner , partly by the W . M . and completed by Bro . Abbott , P . M . ; while in the case of Bro . Whitehead , the ceremony was carried out in a manner equally impressive by that well known Mason , the uncle of the candidate . The working tools were explained by Bro . Cook , l . P . M , and the traditional history most effectively narrated
by Bro . Abbott , P . M . In the absence of the S . D . the duties of that office were efficiently performed by Bro . Napier , P . M ., while Bro . Brook , P . M ., acted as D . C . The W . M . read the circular letter from Bro . the Earl of Carnarvon , ProG . M ., respecting the Masonic celebration of the Queen's Jubilee , and after a short discussion it was resolved that " this lodge approves of the suggestions
contained in the circular . " A circular letter was also read by the W . M . directing the attention of the lodge to the proposed presentation to Bro . F . Binckes , Secretary of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , after 25 years' service in that capacity . Bro . Abbott , P . M ., spoke of the labours performed by Bro . Binckes in the cause of Masonry , especially the success which has marked the management of
the Boys' Institution since he had been elected Secretary , and proposed that the sum of one guinea should be voted by the lodge to the Presentation Fund . This was seconded by Bro . Brook , P . M ., who observed that , although the sum was small , he trusted that it would be accepted as an indication that while the lodge fully appreciated the services o £ . Bro . Binckes , yet that the calls upon their funds were so
numerous at the present time , that they were unable to give more . An amendment was proposed to increase the vote to three guineas j but it met with no support , and the original resolution was carried " nem . con . " Another letter was read announcing the approaching marriage of Miss Martyn , daughter of Bro . the Rev . C . J . Martyn , D . P . G . M ., and stating that it had been decided by the brethren in the
Province of Suffolk , to mark their appreciation of the esteem in which he was held , that a wedding present should be made to his daughter . Several of the brethren present spoke in eulogistic terms of the D . P . G . M ., and it was decided that a subscription list should be at once opened for those who cared to subscribe .
Subsequently the brethren adjourned to another room , where the usual repast was spread and done justice to . On the removal of the cloth , the customary loyal and Masonic toasts were given from the chair and duly honoured . In reply to the toast of "The Visitors , " Bros . Pettitt , P . M . 388 , P . P . A . G . D . C , and Meech , S . D . 23 C 1 , returned thanks for the hospitalitv of the lodge .
