D . of C . Devon . The address by Bro . Alurray xvas eagerly listened to by a very sympathetic audience , and his allusions to Bro . Perry ' s valuable services to the lodge as one of its founders , the first Master , audits constant friend

and supporter through all its difficulties , until it . had arrived at its present position as one of the chief lodges in one of the largest provinces in England , xvas most heartily received . XV . Perry responded , and after warmly thanking thc brethren for the compliment paid him , gave a sketch of thc motives xvhich attracted the promoters of the lodge

in 1 S 72 , and expressed his delight to lind that the improvement in thc character and status of the Order locally had been achieved through their instrumentality . 1 Bro . Perry having expressed himself most kindly towards thc sister lodge , and the VV . AL especially , sat down

amidst the plaudits of the brethren , xvho all sincerely regret that they xvill soon be deprived of his valued aid and council , by reason of his removal from thc county . Wc cannot help thinking that the example thus set by Bro . Perry ( having already been presented xvith a P . AI . 's jexvel ) is one that should be more generally folloxved .

" The VVorshipful Master in proposing " The Health oi thc Initiate" said that it xvas a toast that xvas always received xvith greater enthusiasm than any other . Since

thc formation of the Saxe Weimeir Lodge they had been fortunate enough to have initiates from all parts of the globe . They felt honoured to have received amongst them that night a son of such a noble father and a noble Alason . lie ( the W . AL ) felt certain that Bro . Wolff xvould never regret coming amongst them ; in his travels over the xvorld he xvould find doors open to him that

otherwise might have been closed . Bro . II . D . Wolff responded and said that he had long xvished to become a Freemason and he felt proud that evening at having joined the Order , He xvas highly pleased at becoming a member of the Saxe Weimar Lodge , as his father xvas so closely connected xvith the toxvn in xvhich it

had its home . He apologised for his father ' s absence and concluded by xvishing all a Happy Nexv Year . Hro Toivnsend proposed "The " Health of the W . AL , " and remarked that Bro . Page had obtained the devotion of all the lodge . It xvas the W . M . ' s second year , thus proving he xvas much respected . He was sure the toast would receive a hearty reception .

AI . did not do his utmost for the lodge , then he xvas not fit for the position .
