The minutes having been confirmed , the ballot was taken and Mr . Henry Barrett Greene duly elected for initiation . Bros . Mark Robinson Wright and Wm . Wilson Ferguson were afterwards raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M . by Bro . John Wood , P . M ., who also gave the tools appertaining to the ceremony . There was a considerable amount of work to do , nominations , bye-laws , & c , which occupied the attention of thebrethren until g . 40 p . m ., when the lodge closed , and an adjournment was made to the refreshment room . A goodly array of members and visitors attended , and enjoyed themselves in the usual manner .

HARLESTON . —Faithful Lodge ( No 85 ) . —By dispensation the installation meeting of this old Iodge ( anno 1753 ) was held on the 20 th inst ., instead of the 26 th , on account of this latter being the date fixed for the visit of the M . W . Grand Master H . R . H . the Prince of VVales to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Norfolk . There was a fair muster of the brethren , and a few visitors were

heartily welcomed . The chair was in the first instance occupied by Bro . Crisp , P . M ., in the absence of the W . Master , who is abroad , and the ordinary business of the Iodge was transacted . The chair was then taken by Bro . C . D . Hill Drury , M . D ., I . P . M ., P . P . G . R ., and he most impressively installed Bro . Sacon Hart as VV . M . for the ensuing year . The ceremonies of opening and closing the

B . of I . Ms , were fully worked , and the I . P . Ms , were called off to pledge the new ruler in the Craft . The W . M . appointed and invested his officers as follows Bros . Capt . Sancroft Holmes , I . P . M . ; Smith , S . W . ; T . E . Bond , J . W . ; Calver , P . M ., Treas . ; Carman , P . M ., Sec ; C Bond , S . D . ; Knights , J . D . ; J . Aldous , I . G . ; and G . The lodge was closed after " Hearty good wishes " had been expressed by the brethren , and a vote of thanks recorded on the minutes to the Installing Master . The brethren then adjourned to the banquet . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts , Bro . Hill Drury , in well-chosen and felicitous terms proposed "The Health of the VV . M ., " who duly responded .

Bro . Reeve , I . P . M ., of Montgomerie Lodge , and also a member of the Faithful Lodge , proposed "The Health of the Installing Master , " and said that for the first time he seemed really to understand of the hidden depths of Masonry , that a new and beautiful light had fallen around him after witnessing the ceremony so impressively and eloquently performed by Bro . Hill Drury . He had seen

many installations , but never on any occasion had he witnessed anything which had affected him or given him greater delight and pleasure , and in saying this he expressed not only his own feelings but those of every brother present . He trusted Bro . Hill Drury would have a long and happy life , and would often be called upon to render like service to the Craft .

Bro . Hill Drury , in responding , said he felt very grateful to the brethren of the Faithful Lodge for the great kindness shown to him on so many occasions , and could not forget the honour they had done to him in the past in twice electing him to the chair of his mother lodge . He thought that their praise of his working was more than he deserved , but he could say truly , that as a Mason he was

thoroughly in earnest , and endeavoured to perform his duty in the best possible manner , and that if a Mason would duly strive to follow the precepts inculcated in the lodge , he not only could not be a bad citizen of the world , but must of necessity be a very bright one . The Tyler's toast brought a very successful and harmonious meeting to a close .
