Bro . H . O . Budd , S . W ., at the request of the W . M ., proposed "The Past Masters . " He said that in submitting the toast it gave them an opportunity of expressing their approval of the great services of the Past Masters , who were often referred to as old fossils , but not so in that lodge . They were glad to have their advice , which was always reliable . He could speak at length extolling what they had done for the lodge , but that was not necessary , as they were so well known . He joined with the toast the name of Bro . R . Jackson , the senior Past Master and founder of the lodge .

The Past Masters were thankful that their services were remembered They were on the shelf and quiet because the business was always so well managed that they had little or nothing to do , but the members could always depend on the Past Masters to do anything to further the interest of the lodge . He was proud that he was the first Master , but there were rows of Past Masters who had succeeded himand they were all good and true men .

" and the Tyler ' s toast ended a most enjoyable and memorable evening , for which the VV . M . is to be congratulated .

Parkinson to the Second Degree and explained the tracing board , his working being perfect . Bro . P . Davison , S . W ., was elected W . M . for the ensuing year , Bro . Lee , I . P . M ., was chosen for the Treasurership , and Bro . Evenden was re-elected Tyler . Bros . Cumberland and Lockett were appointed Auditors .
After transacting some regular business , the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the supper table , where they partook of a sumptuous feast , prepared for them under the immediate supervision of Bro . Blackley , the hotel manager , \ sho on each of these occasions goes one better .
Royal Victorian Jubilee Lodge , No . 2184 . The installation meeting of the above flourishing lodge took place on Thursday , the 24 th ult ., at the Phicnix Hotel , Rainham , when Bro . C . Jolly , P . M . and Sec . 1472 , and Secretary of the lodge , was installed W . M . for the ensuing 12 months , or until a successor shall have been placed in his stead . The lodge was opened by Bro . F . J . Eedle , P . M ., W . M ., who performed the ceremonies of passing and raising , and then , in his own faultless manner , installed hissuccessor . Bro . Jolly , W . M ., appointed his officera as follows :

The Audit Committee reported accounts correct , and after Bro . Jolly had been chosen to represent the lodge on the Provincial Charity Committee , the lodge was closed . The banquet was served by Bro . J oyce , the esteemed host of the Phoenix , in excellent taste , and was much enjoyed .
The usual loval , and Grand and Provincial Grand Lodge toasts were honoured , as were those of "The Worshipful Master , " "Installing Officer , " " Past Masters , " " Visitors , " "Initiates , " and "Officers . Bro . F . Kcdge , P . M ., proposed " The Health of the W . M ., "for which he predicted an enthusiastic reception . Bro . Skinner , he said , was a founder of thc lodge , who had taken a wholesome and earnest interest in its welfare , and they now saw him VV . M . They were proud to see him in that position , and regretted that his year of oflice , as far as it had gone , had not been more successful . They hoped soon to see an increase of members , so that at the end of his year the VV . M . could be congratulated on having wound up in a most satisfactory manner .
Bro . J . Skinner , P . M ., W . M ., returned sincere thanks for the kind manner in which Bro . Hedge , P . M ., had been pleased to express his opinion of his ( the W . M . ' s ) tmall labours in the lodge . Everything he had done had been a labour of love , and now that he had attained the high position of the chair , he would do everything he could for the welfare and benefit of the lodge . I le hoped the lodge would gain high honours in the future , and everything he could possibly do to that end would be done .
"The Visitors" was next given by the VV . M ., who regretted that his rhetorical poweis failed him in doing justice to the toast . All the members present were delighted to see visitors , and he regretted there was not a larger attendance to greet them , but various reasons had brought this about . Although small in numbers , their greeting was no less sincere . He hoped that on the next occasion a more interesting entertainment in the lodee would be provided .
Bro . G . Brinsley , 22 , in reply , thanked Bro . Woolley , P . M ., for his invitation , and expressed the pleasure his visit had afforded him . I le was not what he might call a fust-rate Mason , having joined late in life , but he upheld Masonry in all its tenets . Bro . W . Allman , S . D . 482 , also replied , and said it had been rather painful to him to miss the face of Bro . Herbert Reynolds , I . P . M ., from the meeting that evening . He

knew Bro . G . H . Reynolds as a boy , had been in daily communication with him since and had received many invites from him to attend the ledge . He was pleased to attend that evening , and thanked the VV . M . and brethren for their kind reception . The W . M . then said he could not allow the evening to pass without expressing his personal thanks to the P . Ms ., S . W ., and ollicers who had supported him that evening and since he had occupied the chair . The Tyler's toast afterwards closed an enjoyable evening .

Degree and paid the greatest attention to the charges and addresses , and was deeply impressed with the earnest and impressive manner of the VV . M ., Bro . Pointer , who deserves every praise for the admirable manner in which he did the ceremony , and was most ably assisted by his officers . There being no other business the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet , served in a most perfect style and reflecting the greatest credit on the firm . The lodge toasts were received and duly honoured .
Bro . Lane , P . M ., in proposing " The Health of the VV . M ., " alluded to the excellent manner he had done his duties and said they one and all were proud to have so good and genial a Master , courteous and kind , giving his time and study to the benefit of the lodge , and they must acknowledge that by his exertions the lodge was most prosperous and flourishing . The toast was received very heartily .
The Worshipful Master , in response , said he was very pleased to be present . The Worshipful Master in proposing the toast of " The Past Masters , " said he was gratified to see the work done in so perfect a manner , and with the officers for the courtesy in discharging their several duties . Bro . Burroughs responded for " The Visitors , " and expressed the great pleasure they felt in visiting the lodge . They had been most courteously received , the working of the ceremony was beautifully carried out , and they were delighted with their visit and trusted to have the pleasure to visit them again .
Bro . C . Sheppard replied for " The Secretary and Treasurer , " and said he was pleased that the lodge was going on so prosperously and regretted that a serious illness prevented their esteemed Treasurer , Bro . Dr . N . Goodchild , from being present . Other toasts followed . The evening was enlivened with some excellent music and songs by the brethren , and the Tyler's toast closed a very successful meeting .

Bro . F . Kcdge , P . M ., proposed " The Health of the W . M ., "for which he predicted an enthusiastic reception . Bro . Skinner , he said , was a founder of thc lodge , who had taken a wholesome and earnest interest in its welfare , and they now saw him VV . M . They were proud to see him in that position , and regretted that his year of oflice , as far as it had gone , had not been more successful . They hoped soon to see an increase of members , so that at the end of his year the VV . M . could be congratulated on having wound up in a most satisfactory manner .
Bro . J . Skinner , P . M ., W . M ., returned sincere thanks for the kind manner in which Bro . Hedge , P . M ., had been pleased to express his opinion of his ( the W . M . ' s ) tmall labours in the lodge . Everything he had done had been a labour of love , and now that he had attained the high position of the chair , he would do everything he could for the welfare and benefit of the lodge . I le hoped the lodge would gain high honours in the future , and everything he could possibly do to that end would be done .
"The Visitors" was next given by the VV . M ., who regretted that his rhetorical poweis failed him in doing justice to the toast . All the members present were delighted to see visitors , and he regretted there was not a larger attendance to greet them , but various reasons had brought this about . Although small in numbers , their greeting was no less sincere . He hoped that on the next occasion a more interesting entertainment in the lodee would be provided .
Bro . G . Brinsley , 22 , in reply , thanked Bro . Woolley , P . M ., for his invitation , and expressed the pleasure his visit had afforded him . I le was not what he might call a fust-rate Mason , having joined late in life , but he upheld Masonry in all its tenets . Bro . W . Allman , S . D . 482 , also replied , and said it had been rather painful to him to miss the face of Bro . Herbert Reynolds , I . P . M ., from the meeting that evening . He

knew Bro . G . H . Reynolds as a boy , had been in daily communication with him since and had received many invites from him to attend the ledge . He was pleased to attend that evening , and thanked the VV . M . and brethren for their kind reception . The W . M . then said he could not allow the evening to pass without expressing his personal thanks to the P . Ms ., S . W ., and ollicers who had supported him that evening and since he had occupied the chair . The Tyler's toast afterwards closed an enjoyable evening .

and C . R . Farrow , 2246 . The lodge having been opened and the minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed , Bro . Osborne was raised to the M . M . Degree and paid the greatest attention to the charges and addresses , and was deeply impressed with the earnest and impressive manner of the VV . M ., Bro . Pointer , who deserves every praise for the admirable manner in which he did the ceremony , and was most ably assisted by his officers . There being no other business the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet , served in a most perfect style and reflecting the greatest credit on the firm . The lodge toasts were received and duly honoured .
Bro . Lane , P . M ., in proposing " The Health of the VV . M ., " alluded to the excellent manner he had done his duties and said they one and all were proud to have so good and genial a Master , courteous and kind , giving his time and study to the benefit of the lodge , and they must acknowledge that by his exertions the lodge was most prosperous and flourishing . The toast was received very heartily .
The Worshipful Master , in response , said he was very pleased to be present . The Worshipful Master in proposing the toast of " The Past Masters , " said he was gratified to see the work done in so perfect a manner , and with the officers for the courtesy in discharging their several duties . Bro . Burroughs responded for " The Visitors , " and expressed the great pleasure they felt in visiting the lodge . They had been most courteously received , the working of the ceremony was beautifully carried out , and they were delighted with their visit and trusted to have the pleasure to visit them again .
Bro . C . Sheppard replied for " The Secretary and Treasurer , " and said he was pleased that the lodge was going on so prosperously and regretted that a serious illness prevented their esteemed Treasurer , Bro . Dr . N . Goodchild , from being present . Other toasts followed . The evening was enlivened with some excellent music and songs by the brethren , and the Tyler's toast closed a very successful meeting .
