Grand Councillor of the Order , is the father and founder of this conclave , and , under his beneficent sway , it has ( flourished exceedingly . Notwithstanding a protest on his part , the brethren re-elected him S . R . for the year ensuing , < taking advantage of the opportunity to express their very 1 high appreciation of his services to the Order and to t Masonry . <
The installation meeting was to take place on Nov . 17 < ( Bro . Gottlieb ' s birthday ) , and it is hoped that his friends 1 in England will not forget him in his enforced absence . < Bro . W . R . The brethren of Singapore have requested this conclave to assist them in obtaining a warrant for a conclave in that I town , and this request was readily acceded to . I It is confidently anticipated that Bro . Gottlieb and his 1 conclave , which boasts the proud title of " Primus in Ind , " 1 will form a nucleus whence the pure teaching of this <
beautiful Order will spread far and wide . _ I Bro . P . C . Dutt has undertaken the consecration of the 1 Empress of India Conclave , No . 16 , in Calcutta , on or 1 about the fourth Friday in November . These , joined to the Damon and Phythias , Madras , make three conclaves in active work in this part of the world .

LIMASSOL . St . Paul ' s Lodge ( No . 2277 ) . —This lodge , situated at the above place , celebrated its first anniversary on the 15 th ult ., when the second batch of office-bearers was duly installed . This young lodge has met with undoubted success in its first year of working . Commencing with 27 original members , it has added three joining members and
24 initiates to its roll . Unfortunately , it has lost one of its original members by death and 20 by resignation , caused principally by the departure from the island of the Prince of Wales' Yorkshire Regiment , which was largely repre- t seated in its books . The lodge , however , now starts on ' the second year of its course with 33 members and a fair i promise of more initiates and joining members . The
balance sheet , as read , was most satisfactory , there being t a net balance to the general account of £ \ $ 12 s . 2 d ., and 1 to the Benevolent Fund of £ 11 6 s . 2 d . The lodge room is t now fully furnished in every respect , and but little more is I needed to complete the banqueting hall and ante room . The total expenditure up to date has been over £ 212 . So 1 anxious are the brethren for " more light" that a R . A . 1
chapter in connection with St . Paul's is seriously contem- ( plated , and during last summer a lodge of instruction was ; formed under Grand Lodge sanction . \ After the lodge was closed , the brethren , to the number of ( 24 , sat down to an excellent banquet , followed by the usual < loyal and Masonic toasts , which were received with all the honours . 1
The dignity and solemnity of the ceremony was greatly enhanced by the proper musical service as contained in Dr . Sparkes' " Liber Musicus . "

t THE GREAT WESTERN . The Great Western Railway Company have made liberal arrangements for the convenience of their Chri-tmas passengers . Tickets will be issued at no less than 11 of their City and West End offices in the metropolis , viz . : 193 and 407 , Oxford-street ; 23 , New Oxford-street ; Bartlett ' s
1 ; 1 i 1 : Buildings , Holborn Circus ; 29 , Charing Cross ; 5 , Arthurstreet East , London Bridge ; S 2 , Queen Victoria-street ; 43 and 44 , Crutched Friars ; 26 , Regent-street ; 269 , Strand ; 67 , Gresham-street ; and 4 , Cheapside ; at all of which places tickets can be obtained on and after Wednesday , December iSth . This arrangement cannot fail to be a boon to those travellers who desire to avoid the trouble o ;
obtaining a ticket at a crowded railway station , and with a view to add still further to the convenience thus afforded , the Booking Office at the Paddington Station will also be open for the issue of tickets each day for a week before Christmas Day . Ordinary tickets obtained in London between December iSth and 24 th will be available for use on any day between ( and including ) those days . Cheap
tickets at reduced fares will be issued from London to the Yeovil and Weymouth districts and to stations in the West of England ; similar tickets will also be issued from those districts to London . Grand Councillor of the Order , is the father and founder of this conclave , and , under his beneficent sway , it has ( flourished exceedingly . Notwithstanding a protest on his part , the brethren re-elected him S . R . for the year ensuing , < taking advantage of the opportunity to express their very 1 high appreciation of his services to the Order and to t Masonry . <
The installation meeting was to take place on Nov . 17 < ( Bro . Gottlieb ' s birthday ) , and it is hoped that his friends 1 in England will not forget him in his enforced absence . < Bro . W . R . Adams , P . G . C , was re-elected Treasurer . I The Permanent Committee was strengthened by the election of two new members , and then two inductees were 1 proposed for the next meeting . 1
The brethren of Singapore have requested this conclave to assist them in obtaining a warrant for a conclave in that I town , and this request was readily acceded to . I It is confidently anticipated that Bro . Gottlieb and his 1 conclave , which boasts the proud title of " Primus in Ind , " 1 will form a nucleus whence the pure teaching of this <
beautiful Order will spread far and wide . _ I Bro . P . C . Dutt has undertaken the consecration of the 1 Empress of India Conclave , No . 16 , in Calcutta , on or 1 about the fourth Friday in November . These , joined to the Damon and Phythias , Madras , make three conclaves in active work in this part of the world .

LIMASSOL . St . Paul ' s Lodge ( No . 2277 ) . —This lodge , situated at the above place , celebrated its first anniversary on the 15 th ult ., when the second batch of office-bearers was duly installed . This young lodge has met with undoubted success in its first year of working . Commencing with 27 original members , it has added three joining members and
24 initiates to its roll . Unfortunately , it has lost one of its original members by death and 20 by resignation , caused principally by the departure from the island of the Prince of Wales' Yorkshire Regiment , which was largely repre- t seated in its books . The lodge , however , now starts on ' the second year of its course with 33 members and a fair i promise of more initiates and joining members . The
balance sheet , as read , was most satisfactory , there being t a net balance to the general account of £ \ $ 12 s . 2 d ., and 1 to the Benevolent Fund of £ 11 6 s . 2 d . The lodge room is t now fully furnished in every respect , and but little more is I needed to complete the banqueting hall and ante room . The total expenditure up to date has been over £ 212 . So 1 anxious are the brethren for " more light" that a R . A . 1
chapter in connection with St . Paul's is seriously contem- ( plated , and during last summer a lodge of instruction was ; formed under Grand Lodge sanction . \ After the lodge was closed , the brethren , to the number of ( 24 , sat down to an excellent banquet , followed by the usual < loyal and Masonic toasts , which were received with all the honours . 1
The dignity and solemnity of the ceremony was greatly enhanced by the proper musical service as contained in Dr . Sparkes' " Liber Musicus . "

The brethren of the United Northern Counties Lodge , No . 2128 , of which the Provincial Grand Master of East Yorkshire is a member , have prepared an address of congratulation on his appointment as Viceroy of Ireland . It was hoped that arrangements would be

t THE GREAT WESTERN . The Great Western Railway Company have made liberal arrangements for the convenience of their Chri-tmas passengers . Tickets will be issued at no less than 11 of their City and West End offices in the metropolis , viz . : 193 and 407 , Oxford-street ; 23 , New Oxford-street ; Bartlett ' s
1 ; 1 i 1 : Buildings , Holborn Circus ; 29 , Charing Cross ; 5 , Arthurstreet East , London Bridge ; S 2 , Queen Victoria-street ; 43 and 44 , Crutched Friars ; 26 , Regent-street ; 269 , Strand ; 67 , Gresham-street ; and 4 , Cheapside ; at all of which places tickets can be obtained on and after Wednesday , December iSth . This arrangement cannot fail to be a boon to those travellers who desire to avoid the trouble o ;
obtaining a ticket at a crowded railway station , and with a view to add still further to the convenience thus afforded , the Booking Office at the Paddington Station will also be open for the issue of tickets each day for a week before Christmas Day . Ordinary tickets obtained in London between December iSth and 24 th will be available for use on any day between ( and including ) those days . Cheap
tickets at reduced fares will be issued from London to the Yeovil and Weymouth districts and to stations in the West of England ; similar tickets will also be issued from those districts to London . On Tuesday , December 24 th , the 6 . 20 p . m . fast train from Paddington , usually running to Bristol only , will run to Exeter , and the 1 . 0 and 5 . 0 p . m . fast trains ( 1 , 2 , and 3
class ) from Paddington to Plymouth will be extended to Falmouth and Penzance ; a special fast train to the West of England , going through to Penzance , will leave Paddington at 11 . 50 p . m . midnight on December 24 th , and carry third-class passengers at reduced fares . On Christmas Day the usual Sunday service oE trains will be run , but for the convenience of persons who are unable to leave town before the morning of Christmas Day the 5 . 30 a . m . newspaper train will run as on week days to Oxford , Bristol , Weston-Super-Mare , and Swansea , and will connect at Oxford with trains to Worcester , Banbury ,
( ' I Leamington , Birmingham , Dudley , and Wolverhampton . In order to meet the extraordinary demands upon the Company ' s resources , by the enormous parcels traffic despatched both from and to London at Christmas time , special fast trains carrying parcels only , and calling at the principal intermediate station , will run between London and Plymouth , Birkenhead , Worcester , and New Milford .
