When I was speaking at the meeting with reference to the Sunday counting and filling in of voles that would be unavoidable were this portion of the scheme to be carried out , it was manifest to all present that I was speaking of the Election dates as then re-arranged , and not as they had been . All Sunday work and enforced absence from home on Sunday is now a thing ot the past , and one of the greatest drawbacks to the taking of an active part in our

Masonic Elections is happily removed . That my views are in accordance with those of many distant provincial as well as of London and home provincial brethren 1 entenain no doubt . 7 S 3 ] ATHOLL GRAND LODGE SEALS . As one much interested , I cordially thank Bros . Le Feuvre and Quick for their contributions to Notes and Queries 780 and 781 . To both I shall probably refer at some tuture time in a general article on Grand Lodge Seals . I should be greatly indebted to anyone who will forward to me a Moderns Arch Certificate of 1813 , or any earlier year

before 1794 , with or without seal . 1 also want an Ancients Craft Certificate of 1773 , and an Arch Certificate of 1772 , both of which I should be glad to purchase to complete my series . If not for sale , I shall be glad to see them , and will pay all expenses , returning by next post . I need not promise the certificates will be taken care of . J . RAMSDEN RILEY .

SKELMERSDALE LODGE ( No . 1658 ) . —The above lodge met on Thursday , the 24 th ult ., at the Surrey Masonic Hall , Camberwell , when Bro . Croxon was raised and Mr . Rigby was initiated . Both ceremonies were performed by the W . M ., Bro . Humphrey Cohen , in a most perfect and impressive manner , and indeed , as was generally expressed , such working as the W . M . ' s it would

be difficult to equal , and almost impossible to excel . A most excellent repast was supplied by Mrs . Venables , to which about 50 members and visitors did ample justice . During the evening the company were treated to several excellent songs by the following brethren : Bro . McCall Chambers , W . T . Buxton , R . Rowlands , S . Mackway , and G . C . Burry , who also presided at the piano .

The usual toasts were given by the W . M . in some remarkably neat and witty speeches , and Bros . C . R . Williams , P . M . 72 ; J . Andrews , I . G . 1986 ; G . C . Burry , P . P . G . Org . Surrey ; J . S . Miller , P . M . 1668 , * and H . Hooper responded on behalf of " The Visitors . " The entire proceedings were unanimously acknowledged

The banquet was held in the Crown Room , and was admirably served under the superintendence of Bro . Madell , the courteous manager of the tavern . Grace— " For these and all Thy mercies "—having been sung , the Worshipful Master gave " The Oueen and the Cratt . "

" From enemies Heaven defend your Majesty , And when they stand against you may they fall . " The National Anthem was sung by Bros . E . W . Collins , J . Probert , R . Groome , and Egbert Roberts . " The Health of the M . W . the Grand Master" followed . " Dear to thy land and ours—a Prince indeed . " " God bless the Prince of Wales" was finely rendered by the before named artistes .
