Lord Mayor Sir H . A . Isaacs will attend in State at 2 p . m . for the purpose of formally opening them . The two ancient silver censers found in the bed of Whittlesea Mere about 50 years ago , were sold by Mess-s . Christie , on Tuesday , in presence of a very full attendance . The thurible or censer of Gothic design and silver gilt is 11 in . high , on a circular foot 35 in . in diameter . The first bid was made of £ 500 , and Mr . Davis was the purchaser for £ 1155 . The ship or incense boat , 11 in . in length and 3 in . high , standing on a hexagonal foot of elegant form , was also bought by Mr . Davis for / goo .
Sir Chailes Bernard presided on VVednesday evening at the annual meeting of the L-mdon City Mission Society , held at Exeter Hall , and said that if any man had doubts as to the work which the society was doing he should follow up one of their 400 missionaries , and thus become enabled
