M ., in thanking the brethren for their kindness in voting him a Past Master's jewel , said there was one

thing that he should appreciate better , namely , the money the jewel would cost being expended in purchasing a vote for the Boys' School for the lodge , for , as they all knew , they were not rich in votes . The lodge accepted the I . P . M . ' s wishes ; and accordingly resolved , on Bro . Bois' proposition , that a testimonial be presented to him , expressing the sentiments of the

brethren , on vellum , and suitably framed , and , at the same time , the aforesaid vote will be presented on his behalf to the lodge . After the VV . M . had received " Hearty good wishes " from the numerous visitors , the lodge was duly closed . The brethren and visitors then adjourned to the banqueting-room , where eighty brethren sat down to a most

He had been connected fifteen years with the lodge , which they all knew was his mother lodge , and they could depend on him doing all in his power to maintain the high prestige
