M ., Tyler . The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed , the W . M . vacated the chair in favour of the Installing Master , who proceeded with the installation of

Bro . G . Renouf , P . M ., proposed , and Bro . C . D . Bishop , P . M ., seconded , that a Past Master's jewel should be presented to Bro . J . T . Baal , for having so ably occupied the chair for two successive years ; whicii proposition was unanimously carried . The ' I . P . M ., in thanking the brethren for their kindness in voting him a Past Master's jewel , said there was one

thing that he should appreciate better , namely , the money the jewel would cost being expended in purchasing a vote for the Boys' School for the lodge , for , as they all knew , they were not rich in votes . The lodge accepted the I . P . M . ' s wishes ; and accordingly resolved , on Bro . Bois' proposition , that a testimonial be presented to him , expressing the sentiments of the

brethren , on vellum , and suitably framed , and , at the same time , the aforesaid vote will be presented on his behalf to the lodge . After the VV . M . had received " Hearty good wishes " from the numerous visitors , the lodge was duly closed . The brethren and visitors then adjourned to the banqueting-room , where eighty brethren sat down to a most

recherche banquet . The toast list brought forth several good speeches . The newly-installed VV . M . presided . I he first toast of the evening , which is always received by all loyal Masons and Englishmen with great enthusiasm , was " . The Oueen and the Craft , " followed by " The Health of theM . W . G . Lodge of England . The VV . M . proposed "The Health of R . W . Bro . Colonel E . C . Malet De Carteret , P . G . M . ; his Deputy , Bro . Dr . Le Cronier ; and the Officers of the Prov . Grand Lodge of lersey , " which was responded to by Bro . P . E . Sohier , l ' . M ., P . G . S . , , Bro . Baal , I . P . M ., then proposed " The Health of the W . M ., " whicii was received with hearty applause .

The VV . M ., in responding , thanked the brethren sincerely for the hearty reception the toast had met with ; he was greatly indebted to the brethren for electing him to the proud position of W . M . of such a prosperous lodge . He had been connected fifteen years with the lodge , which they all knew was his mother lodge , and they could depend on him doing all in his power to maintain the high prestige

that the lodge has had for the past . The VV . M . gave "The Health of the I . P . M . " The I . P . M ., in responding to the toast , thanked the brethren for the hearty manner in which his health had been drank ; he also thanked the officers for the support he had received from them during the time he had occupied the chair , hoping that they would support his successor as they had him . Currie , Very Reverend Dean of Battle , M . M ., 3 S , who was declared unanimously elected as joining member , after whicii the W . M . expressed the pleasure both

himself and the members of the lodge would feel if he would accept the office of Chaplain . Bro . Currie , having replied in the affirmative , he was duly invested with the collar of his office . The lodge was then closed , and after a pleasant supper had been partaken of , the usual loyal and Masonic complimentary toasts were given and duly acknowledged .

LEIGH . —Marquis of Lome Lodge ( No . 1354 ) . —The installation meeting and annual festival of this lodge was celebrated with great success on Wednesday , the ist inst . The VV . M . elect , Bro . VVm . Chas . Freeman , was installed in the chair of K . S ., by Bro . G . H . Evans , a P . M . of the lodge , in a very impressive manner , Bro . James Jackson , P . M ., P . G . A . D . C , rendering valuable assistance in his well known efficient style . The following were the officers invested for the ensuing year : Bros . Robert Leather

HAMPTON . —Hemming Lodge ( No . 1512 ) . — The members of this lodge met at the Red Lion Hotel on the iGth inst ., when there were present , among others , Bros . T . C . Walls , P . P . G . S . B . Middx ., I . P . M ., in tbe chair , in the absence , through severe illness , of Bro . Hiscox ; Moody , S . VV . ; Davey , J . W . ; E . Hopwood , P . P . G . S . B . Middx ., Treas . j W . Hammond , P . P . G . D . Middx ., Sec ; Wheatley , A . W . S . ; Gilbert , Tyler ; Ransforil , Hollands ,

Rich , and others . Among the visitors were Bros . F . Walters , P . P . G . D . Middx . ' ; and C . Citroen , 132 G . The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , Mr . Nicholas Contopaulos was initiated into the Craft , Bro . A . A . St . Vincent Rich passed as a F . C , and Bros . H . Hollands and C . Citroen raised to the Degree of M . M . In consequence of the recent and regretted death of Bro . R . Gutteridge , one of the founders of

the Hemming , the lodge was in mourning , and previously to its being closed , the I . P . M . moved , which was seconded and unanimously carried , " That the lodge go into mourning for three months , and that a letter of condolence be drawn up by the Secretary , signed by the W . M . upon behalf of the lodge , and forwarded to the family of the deceased brother . " The brethren then adjourned to a collation . Upon the removal of the cloth a few toasts were given .

Bro . Hammond responded upon behalf of " The Provincial Grand Officers , " and then proposed the toast of "TheW . M . " Bro . Walls having replied upon behalf of Bro . Hiscox , gave "The Initiate , " who responded . " The Visitors followed , for whom Bro . Walters replied . " The Officers , " coupled with the names of Bros . Hopwood , Hammond , Moody , and Davey , who , respectively acknowledged the compliment , brought the proceedings to a conclusion .

DUKE OF EDINBURGH LODGE ( No . 1259 ) . —The above lodge met en the 17 th inst ., at Bro . Moore's , Bricklayers' Arms , Narrow-street , Limehouse , when Bro . Hancock , P . M ., was W . M ., supported by Bros . Rolfe , S . W . ; Risbie , J . VV . ; J . Charlton , Treas . ; Buchan , P . M ., Sec ; Hudson , S . D . ; Brown , J . D . ; Jeves , I . G . ; Atkins , P . The evening was devoted , after observance of all preliminaries , to working the ceremony of passing , Bro . Ettling , candidate . After a call off for necessary refreshment , labour was resumed , and the Preceptor worked the Second Section of the Lecture , and afterwards the First and Second Sections of the First Lecture . Bro . Rolfe , b . W . mother lodge , was elected VV . M . for the ensuing Friday evening , when a good attendance is requested to assist his working .

HYDE PARK LODGE ( No . 1425 ) . —The usual weekly meeting was held at its new quarters , the Norfolksquare Hotel , Paddington , on Monday , 20 th inst . Present : Bros . C . S . Mote , W . The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed . The ceremony of

passing was rehearsed , liro . Cursons being the candidate . After the lodge had been called on and off , Bro . J . White , 1 G 37 , was elected a joining member . Bro . Wickens , on behalf of the Audit Committee , read a satisfactory statement of accounts . Bro . J . H . Smith then presented the lodge with three handsome pedestals , and trusted that the brethren who would preside at them in future would do so in a truly Masonic spirit . A hearty vote of thanks was then recorded to him for his p-ift .

TREDEGAR LODGE ( No . 1625 ) . —A meeting of this lodge was held on the 20 th inst ., atthe Royal Hotel , Mile End-road , when there were present Bros . West , W . M . ; Musto , jun ., S . Anning , H . Clarke , and W . Myers . The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and Bro . Hopkins having answered the questions leading from the Second to the Third Degrees , was duly entrusted . The lodge was advanced , and the cerrmony of raising rehearsed , Bro . Hopkins acting as candidate . The brethren then practised

A vote of thanks was recorded on the minutes for the very able manner in which Bro . West had worked the ceremony for the lirst time in this lodge . Bro . J . Musto was unanimously elected VV . M . for the second Monday in December .

LANGTON LODGE ( No . 1673 ) . —A meeting of this lodge was held on the 16 th inst ., atthe Mansion House Station Restaurant , Queen Victoria-street , E . C . Bro . G . Renouf , P . M ., proposed , and Bro . C . D . Bishop , P . M ., seconded , that a Past Master's jewel should be presented to Bro . J . T . Baal , for having so ably occupied the chair for two successive years ; whicii proposition was unanimously carried . The ' I . P . M ., in thanking the brethren for their kindness in voting him a Past Master's jewel , said there was one

thing that he should appreciate better , namely , the money the jewel would cost being expended in purchasing a vote for the Boys' School for the lodge , for , as they all knew , they were not rich in votes . The lodge accepted the I . P . M . ' s wishes ; and accordingly resolved , on Bro . Bois' proposition , that a testimonial be presented to him , expressing the sentiments of the

brethren , on vellum , and suitably framed , and , at the same time , the aforesaid vote will be presented on his behalf to the lodge . After the VV . M . had received " Hearty good wishes " from the numerous visitors , the lodge was duly closed . The brethren and visitors then adjourned to the banqueting-room , where eighty brethren sat down to a most

recherche banquet . The toast list brought forth several good speeches . The newly-installed VV . M . presided . M ., " whicii was received with hearty applause .

The VV . M ., in responding , thanked the brethren sincerely for the hearty reception the toast had met with ; he was greatly indebted to the brethren for electing him to the proud position of W . M . of such a prosperous lodge . He had been connected fifteen years with the lodge , which they all knew was his mother lodge , and they could depend on him doing all in his power to maintain the high prestige

that the lodge has had for the past . The VV . M . gave "The Health of the I . P . M . " The I . P . M ., in responding to the toast , thanked the brethren for the hearty manner in which his health had been drank ; he also thanked the officers for the support he had received from them during the time he had occupied the chair , hoping that they would support his successor as they had him . Nicholas Contopaulos was initiated into the Craft , Bro . A . A . St . Vincent Rich passed as a F . C , and Bros . H . Hollands and C . Citroen raised to the Degree of M . M . In consequence of the recent and regretted death of Bro . R . Gutteridge , one of the founders of

the Hemming , the lodge was in mourning , and previously to its being closed , the I . P . M . moved , which was seconded and unanimously carried , " That the lodge go into mourning for three months , and that a letter of condolence be drawn up by the Secretary , signed by the W . M . upon behalf of the lodge , and forwarded to the family of the deceased brother . " The brethren then adjourned to a collation . Upon the removal of the cloth a few toasts were given .
