A . W . Fenner , P . Z . 22 S , and . Capt . W . Kiddle , 2277 , Cyprus , vvere visitors . PThe chapter was opened , and the companions below the Degree of Z . having retired , Comp . F . Brown , P . Z ., installed Comps . Mayer and Collingridge as M . K . Z . and H . respectively , the ceremonies we need hardly say being faithfully performed . Como . H . J . Hazel , J . elect , being unavoidably absent his installation vvas postponed until next meeting .

Bros . C . W . Potter and F . Richards , both of 1693 , being two present out of the three candidates for exaltation , vvere duly prepared and exalted into Royal Arch Masonry by the M . E . Z ., and his two Principals in a verv impressive manner , being ably supported bj > the other officers of the chapter . Routine business being transacted , the chapter was closed ,

and the companions adjourned to dinner , which was served by the managers of the Holborn Restaurant in their usual satisfactory manner , and vvas done full justice to , the menu being very judiciously arranged . After dinner , the usual loyal toasts vvere given and responded to . The toast of " Tbe M . E . Z . " vvas given in a very graceful manner by Comp . Fruen P . Z ., which was cordially received

by the companions , as was also that of " The H ., " and was responded to in happy terms . The toast of " The Visitors" vvas received with great cordiality , the M . E . Z . more particularly referring to Comp . Kiddle , as hailing from a foreign chapter , in the Island of Cyprus , and thanking both for the kindness of their visit to the Kingsland Chapter .

Ihe visitors responded to the toast in very excellent speeches . The next toast vvas that of the much respected " S . E .. " being none other than Comp . F . Brown , P . Z . The M . E . Z . observed he had not eloquence sufficient to praise the kindness shown to all members of the chapter , as also the great assistance and instruction they always received at his hands when required ,

The toast was enthusiastically received . Comp . Brown thanked the M . E . Z . and companions for the exceedingl y cordial manner his health had been proposed and received , and gave the companions his assurance that he would at all times do his best to promote the welfare of the chapter . The M . E . Z . expressed his regret that business compelled

iNevvtuii , Asst . P . G . Sec , and about 80 representatives of lodges . After reading the minutes of previous meetings and the report of the Election Committee , two candidates for the Girls' School in London were adopted and placed for the support of the province at the forthcoming election .

E AST L ANCASHIKE SYSTEMATIC M ASONIC EDUCATIONAL AND BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION . At the close of the meeting of the Provincial Charity Committee the Relief and Educational Boards of this Institution held their' usual monthly meeting , Bro . J . H . Sillitoe presided , supported by Bro .

Newbold , Vice-Chairman , Bro . Jas . Newton , Sec , and a full board . Four cases for relief were entertained , and to each the stim of , £ 20 was granted , and , £ 12 was voted for the advancement of a boy whose term of education by the Institution had expired . It is intended to elect the first batch of annuitants at the

meeting of the General Committee next month , and it is hoped that the inauguration oi this new branch will not only prove beneficial to the aged and needy in the province but will at the same time , to some extent , lighten the claims upon the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in London .

E AST L ANCASHIKE SYSTEMATIC M ASONIC EDUCATIONAL AND BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION . At the close of the meeting of the Provincial Charity Committee the Relief and Educational Boards of this Institution held their' usual monthly meeting , Bro . J . H . Sillitoe presided , supported by Bro .

Newbold , Vice-Chairman , Bro . Jas . Newton , Sec , and a full board . Four cases for relief were entertained , and to each the stim of , £ 20 was granted , and , £ 12 was voted for the advancement of a boy whose term of education by the Institution had expired . It is intended to elect the first batch of annuitants at the

meeting of the General Committee next month , and it is hoped that the inauguration oi this new branch will not only prove beneficial to the aged and needy in the province but will at the same time , to some extent , lighten the claims upon the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in London .
