to a superb banquet , which was well-served under the personal superintendence of Bro . A . Clemow , and his manager , Bro . Evans . After the banquet the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given .

Bro . F . Stutfield , I . P . M ., proposed " The Health of the W . M ., " and said that he was a jolly good fellow , and the way he had commenced his duties was evidence of what he could do , and he would be a great credit to the lodge , and concluding he

quoted" The Master , he is a good one , and his Worthiness doth challenge much respect . " The toast was drunk with acclamation , and Bro . Bridgrnan , on rising to respond , had a great reception . He said that he was pleased to reply for the first time as W . M ., and he was very proud of his position . When he was an initiate he well remembered saying that he would go

for the chair , and he was more than gratified that he had succeeded in attaining it . Might he say that he felt satisfied with his work during the past 12 months , and his earnest wish was that he might carry out the duties of his exalted office with credit to the lodge , and that when he vacated the chair he hoped the members would never regret having placed him there .

In giving "The Initiate , the VV . M . observed that he was honoured by having one that night , and he hoped he would aspire to the chair , and be an acquisition to the St . Luke ' s Lodge . Bro . Morley , in reply , said that he was very glad to become a Mason .

In proposing "The I . P . M ., Bro . Stutfield , " the W . M . said he took that opportunity of presenting him with a Past Master ' s fewe ) , which was a very small return for his great and valuable services . He had kept up the wellknow reputation of the lodge for good working , and he had been tbe ideal of a W . M .

Bro . Stutfield replied . He said if what he had done met with the satisfaction of the brethren he was gratified , and hoped to live long to adorn the shelf of Past Masters , and to wear the jewel which he honoured . The W . M . gave "The Visitors . " They were a praiseworthy set , and he had the pleasure of knowing more than half of them . He coupled with the toast the names of Bros .

Bro . W . Potter also responded , remarking that the lodge was well known for its good working and hospitality , and he congiatulated the members in having elected such an exceptionally good W . M .

The W . M . proposed "The Past Masters . " He hoped that when his term of office expired , to leave the chair with the same repute as the Past Masters had , and he coupled the name of Bro . Jarvis Maples with the toast . Bro . Maples responded . He said that it was the 32 nd installation he had attended in the lodge , and the work they had witnessed that night made him proud that he was a P . M . of such an excellent lodge .

The W . M . submitted the toast of "The Treasurer and Secretary . " They were both worthy men and good officers , and were ever willing to do anything for the members , both in and out of the lodge . Bro . Unite , P . M ., Treas ., replied in a happy speech , Bro . Watts , P . M ., Sec , also responded . He said that that night was the 16 th time he had been appointed

Secretary , and it was 20 years ago that night that he was installed as W . M . of the lodge , in which he had been a member for 25 years . He ventured to think that having held his office for so long , was proof that the members were satisfied with the way he carried out his duties . The W . M . gave " The Officers . " They were all good fellows , and were working hard to go forward , and , when

required , they would be fully qualified to take any ollice in the lodge . Bros . F . Thomas , S . W . ; J . II . Beauchamp , J . W . ; T . Markland , jun ., S . D . j S . C . M . Austin , J . to a superb banquet , which was well-served under the personal superintendence of Bro .

W . D . Church . P . M ., J . Mason , P . M ., and W . Potter . Bro . W . D . Chu'ch responded . It was a great pleasure to witness the good working that night of the W . M . and I . P . many installation meetingsof their good old lodge , andhe was only too glad to come because they were always ready to help the Charities , and in concluding an earnest but eloquent speech , he said , don ' t forget the Old People , they want it very badly . Bro .
