and the lodge would have a very prosperous year . In the Mirquis of Zetland and Lord Bolton they had two officers of whom all Masons might be proud , for they took a great interest in the Craft . He said that he had been acting as Treasurer of a fund subscribed "by W . Ms , and P . Ms , for a wedding piesent to Lord Bolton ' s daughter on her marriage with the Marquis of Exeter , and £ 75 had been expended in two diamond rings and a diamond and turquoise bracelet . In speaking to the toist Bro . Sir J . Sykes Rymer said that it was not every one they met who were proper persons to be made Masons , and it was well for the various lodges to guard well the
entrance into Masonry . There was no doubt that Masonry was intended to make them better , and if they followed up its precepts they would try to do all the good they could . There was plenty of scope for them to do that , and they would make the world better and happier . Masonry was intended to make them better men for being members of the Craft , and if they were not better for being Masons then the Craft was not at fault , for it was intended by the founders to play a very important part in linking men together . ( Applause . ) Bro . 1 . L . Spetch also replied .

" He said that the Duke of Connaught had only recently been appointed Grand Master of England , but if he performed his Masonic duties with the same spirit that he carried out his military duties , it would be well for the Craft .
Craft Masonry.
The W . M . proposed " The Most Hon . the Marquis of Zetland , R . W . P . G . M . of N and E . Yorks ; the Right Hon . Lord Colton , R . W . D . P . G . M . of N . and E . Yorks ; and the Prov . G . Officers , Present and Past . " Bro . Sir J . Sykes Rymer responded , and said he felt that it was an honour to be allowed to respond to such a toast as that , but before he said anything in connection with it he would congratulate their W . M . on having reached the highest honour which it was in the power of his brethren to confer upon him . He hoped that Bro . Leetham
and the lodge would have a very prosperous year .
Bro . Gill , I . P . M ., proposed " The Worshipful Master of the Agricola Lodge , No . 1991 , " and spoke in eulogistic terms of the services rendered to the lodge by Bro . The ceremony which he had gone through that day had made a lasting impression on his mind . He hoped at the end of his year of office he would still retain their good wishes and kind feeling . ( Applause . )
