The appeal met with a hearty response , a sum being voted from the Lodge funds , and a voluntary subscription added , with hearty good wishes for our brother ' s future prospects . The toast was received most cordially , aud after responding the W . M . proposed the health of the I . P . M . Bro . Beasley , the Father of the Lodgo . Bro . Beasley thanked the brethren for tho cordial reception given the toast ; he had worked very hard in forming tho

Lodge , and during his two years as W . M . ; at tho same timo , ho was at the service of the brethren whenever they might call upon him to discharge any duty , from the ljvvest office upwards . In reference to the health of the " Officers of the Lodge , " given iu flattering terms by the AV . M ., Bro . Chambers Roe P . M . Secretary , said he could endorse all that Bro . Beasley had said regarding tho foundation of cue Lodge ; he had worked hand ami glove with Bro . Beasley . He would

take thafc opportunity of announcing to the brethreu that if ho would retire , or shut his ears—that at tho meeting in April a testimonial would be presented to Bro . Lodge was then opened ia the seoond and third degrees , and two brethren were raised to the sublime degree of M . M . by Bro . Ord AV . M . 1427 , who , on the invitation of the W . M ., conferred tho degree in a most impressive and perfect manner . Apologies were tendered for the non-attendance of several Officers . No othor business offering itself , tho Lodge was closed , after which the brethren partook of refreshments . Beasley thanked the brethren for tho cordial reception given the toast ; he had worked very hard in forming tho

Lodge , and during his two years as W . M . ; at tho same timo , ho was at the service of the brethren whenever they might call upon him to discharge any duty , from the ljvvest office upwards . In reference to the health of the " Officers of the Lodge , " given iu flattering terms by the AV . M ., Bro . Chambers Roe P . M . Secretary , said he could endorse all that Bro . Beasley had said regarding tho foundation of cue Lodge ; he had worked hand ami glove with Bro . Beasley . He would

take thafc opportunity of announcing to the brethreu that if ho would retire , or shut his ears—that at tho meeting in April a testimonial would be presented to Bro . Baasloy in acknowledgment of his services . Bro . Kasner S . W ., Tucker Treasurer , Green , and other Officers having replied , tho Tyler ' s toast concluded the proceedings . The evening was enlivened by some excellent singing by Bros . Beasley , Wafckin Browne , Kasner , Clarke , Green , Henry Youens , T . Youens , and others .

After opening , the W . M . worked the ceremony of initiation . Bro , Tink Brown candidate . Bro . Tucker Preceptor now took tho chair , and opened up , aud Bro . Brown was duly raised . Lodgo resumed , and Bro . Seward re-occupied the chair . Bro . Wright was appointed W . M . for the ensuing week .

North London Chapter of Improvement . —Has commenced working , under the Warrant of tho Islington Chapter 1471 ; the Companions will meet every Friday evening , afc eight , afc tho Crown and Woolpack , Sfc .
