The Lodge being closed in due form , the brethren re-formed in procession and proceeded to the banquet , which was served in a spacious marquee on Bro . Webb ' s lawn , by Bro . Paull , of the Britannia Hotel , and was in excellent 6 tyle , and to the satisfaction of the brethren .

WARWICKSHIRE . CONSECRATION OF THE NEW LODGE AT STRATFORD-ON-AVON . STKATFORD-ON -A VOX— Sard of Avon Lodge ( No . 108 ( 1 ) . —On Monday , June 27 , the ceremony of consecrating the lodge at the Golden Lion Hotel took place , attracting a great number of spectators . The unfavourable state of the weather during the early portion of the doubtless

day , , prevented a much larger concourse of persons being present on this interesting occasion . The proceedings of tho day commenced with the ceremony of consecration , which was performed by Colonel Vernon , tho Prov . G . M . of Staffordshire ; the appointment and investiture of tho W . M . and officers of the new Lodge , and the initiation of several candidates . _ About half-past two o'clock , the Prov . G . M . of the Lodge , and lord lieutenant of the county ( Lord Leigh , of Stoneleigh Abbov ) accombCol

Granville Granville , vicar of Stratibrd-on-Avon ; Bro . the Kev . — Molony , sub-vicar of Stratford-on-Avon ; attended by the usual officers of the ' fraternity , bearing their appropriate insignia of office , together with such of the members of the Craft as had then arrived , numbering in tho whole between sixty and seventy persons , the whole wearinc their respective badges , as also the aprons , scarfs , & c , of tho Order and the to the Masonic

bearing regalia peculiar brethren , assembled at their lodge , where , having formed iu professional order , thev proceeded up Bridge-street , along High-street , Chapel-street , Churchstreet , and the Old Town , to the church of the Holy Trinity , attended by the band of the Warwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry . The sermon was preached by Bro . the Rev . W . K . Riland Bedford , Provincial Grand Chaplain . At the end of the service the procession was re-formed , and , after retracing their far the

steps as as Corn Exchange , High-street , where the members halted for about half an hour , during which time the band played several airs outside the building , they proceeded to the Town Hall , and the Banquet which took place was in every way worthy of the occasion . DEAL . —The Wellington Lodge , for which a warrant or charter of constitution had been obtained , was opened on Saturday , June 18 . The brethren met at the Walmer Castle Hotel , and proceeded thence

in procession to tiie Assembly Rooms , where the ceremony of opening and consecrating tho Lodge was fixed to take place , under a dispensation from the R . W . the Prov . G . M ., instead of the Walmer Castlo named in tho warrant . The Lodge was opened by Bro . Stephen Barton Wilson , Pro . G . Burchell Heme moved " That the sum of ten guineas be subscribed out of the funds of the Provincial Grand Lodge to the Freemasons'Boys School , and a like siun of ten guineas to the Girls' School . " This motion was seconded by Bro . Ward , D . Prov . G . M . Bro . Francis suggested that the amounts were too large , talcing into consideration the state of tho funds of the Provincial Grand

Lodge , and moved , i'Tliat two guineas to each of the schools be subscribed , which they might continue to increase in future years . " This motion was seconded by Bro . Sedgwick , and Bro . Algernon Perkins recommended it as being really more beneficial to tho charities . The amendment was then put , and lost by a majority of one , consequently the original motion was carried . An opinion was expressed that next year a similar vote should be made in aid of the Aged and

Distressed Masons and the Widows Funds . The code of by-laws , as prepared by the _ committee ,. were then read by the Prov . G . Sec and adopted . All business being ended , the Prov . Grand Lodge was closed at five o ' clock , and the brethren rc-assembled at the banquet ; the Prov . G . M . being surrounded by about forty brethren , chiefly of the Watford and Berkhampstead Lodges .
