Tho proceedings of the clay commenced with the ceremony of Consecration , wliicli was performed by Colonel Vernon , the Prov . G . M . of Staffordshire ; the appointment ancl investiture of the W . M . and officers of the new Loclge , and tho initiation of several candidates .

About half-past two o ' clock , tbe Prov . G . M . ofthe Lodge , and lord lieutenant of the county ( Lord Leigh , of Stoneleigh Abbey ) , accompanied by Col . Vernon , the Prov . G . M . of Staffordshire ; Bro . the Rev . TV . IVihrnd Bedford , Prov . G . Chaplain ; Bro . the Rev . Granville Granville , vicar oC Stratford-on-Avon ; Bro . tbe Rev . — Molony , sub-vicar of Stratford-on-Avon ; attended by the usual officers of the fraternity , bearing their appropriate insignia of office , together with such of tho members of the Craft as had then arrivednumbering in the whole between sixty
