'iO THE EDITOll 01 ' TUE FREEMASONS' MAGAZINE AND MASONIC MIRROR . ^ DEAR . SIR AND BROTHER , —In answer to your reply to the "Widow's Son , " I beg to state that the Lodge in question is one that stands foremost in the province of West Yorkshire for its officers and the Avorking . The Tyler , I must say , is a young Brother , having only been iu the situation about a year ami a half ; nevertheless he is a very zealous Mason , and

one ivho I have no doubt Avill soon be an ornament to the honourable society to which he belongs . If ho had interfered ivith the party AA'I IO had thus improperly acted , 110 doubt he Avould have made au enemy ; therefore he thought it best to say nothing , as there n'erc several senior members and a Past Master sitting in the ante-room at the time the preparation was going on . 1 am , dear Sir and Brother , yours fraternally , Daesbwry , Feb . 2 ud , . 1 . 859 . A WIDOW ' S SON .

[ Wc regret to hear that the Tyler u'ould have been likely to make an enemy by the strict performance of his duty . With the explanation now given it would appear that the brother originally complained of was not so much to blame as tho first letter AVC received made him appear . Those Avho Avere in the room at the time and made no protest cverc equally , if not more to blame than the young Brother , AVIIO doubtlessly thought he

was rendering a service and expediting the business of the Lodge . This , however , docs not excuse his subsequent refusal to obey the orders of the W . M .-ED . ]
