At a meeting of St . John s Woodhall , held at Holytoivn , Scotland , on 21 sfc June , 1862 , the following preamble and resolutions wereadopted : — Whereas it has pleased the Grand Master or the Universe in the fulfilment of his just ancl holy purposes , to remove from us by the hand of death our Bro . James Wilson , a member of the St . John's Operative Rothes ( No . 193 ) , and a member by affiliation of St . John's Woodhall ( No . 305 ) who was endeared to us

, hy the fraternal ties of our beloved Order , therefore , Resolved , 1 st , That in this visitation of Divine Providence in the removal of our lamented brother , we are most solemnly admonished of the vanity of life and the certainty of death , ancl ¦ are also reminded of the necessity of being ready at the call of tbe Grand Master above , to leave the lodge below for the lodgo " eternal and in the heavens . "

Resolved , 2 nd , That our kindliest sympathies flow towards the afflicted widow and children of our departed brother ; ancl we would desire for them that support and consolation which their sorrows demand . And may they , though bereft of a husband and lather ' s counsel , look for guidance and protection to Him ivho "tempers tbe wind to the shorn lamb , " who has promised to be a husband to the widow and a father to the fatherless , and who suffers not a sparrow to fall to the ground ivithout His

TRINIDAD . PIICEXIX LODGE . —( No . 1213 ) . —On Wednesday , tiie 30 th April , 1862 , this lodge was consecrated , according to ancient form , by the R . W . Bro . Daniel Hart , Prov . G . M . There ivere 119 brethren present , ancl the ceremony was one of the most imposing we have witnessed for some time . The Prov . Grancl Master addressed the brethren at some length in his usual impressive manner . After the lodge was closed the brethren sat

down to a banquet , the Master of the new lodge presiding . Tbe music added greatly to the proceedings . Tbe toasts drunk were , " Tbe Queen ; ' " "" The M . W . the Grancl Master the Earl of Zetland ; " " The Prov . Grancl Master ; " " The Master ofthe Phoenix Lodge ; " " Visiting Brethren ; " ancl " Masons all over tbe World . " The lodge was beautifully illuminated .

DEVONSHIRE . PLr . irOFTir . —Loyal Bninsimelc Encampment . —The regular quarterly convocation of the above Encampment was hold in tho Freemasons' Chapter Room , St . George ' s Hall , on AVednesday , the 18 th of June , 1 SG 2 . The following were present : —Sir Knights Evens , E . G . ; Dowse , P . E . C . and P . G . H . ; Rodd , Mills , Triscotfc , Thomas , Harfoot , Dupre , Rodda , Blight , Harvey , & c .

Knights Templar.

The Encampment was opened in due form under the command of Sir Knt . Evens , at four o'clock p . m . Theminutes of the last meeting wore read and confirmed . The E . C . then called on the Sir Knts . to prepare to receive the Prov . G . Commander , the Rev . Eminent Sir Knt . Huyshe , who entered in due form , accompanied by Sir Knt . Dick , " Visiting Prater of the Provincial Grand Encampment of Dorset , ancl was received with the honours clue to bis rank . The E . C . then requested the Prov . G .

Commander to assume the command of the Encampment , which ho graciously declined , on which the business of the evening was proceeded with . A ballot was then taken for Comp . Richard Howe , of the Boyal Arch Chapter , St . John , So . S 3 . The same proving unanimous , ancl he having signed the required declaration , he was introduced in ancient form , and duly installed a Sir Knt . of the Royal , Exalted , Religious , and Military

Order of Masonic Knights Templar . At the conclusion of this ever interesting ceremony , the Prov . G . Commander ivas pleased to express the pleasure ifc gave him to have an opportunity of ¦ witnessing the masterly manner in which the ceremony ancl the duties of the Encampment were performed , which , with the appropriate style of its equipments , lie considered , placed it in the position of one of the best in the province . There being no further business before the meeting , the Encampment was closed in solemn form , with prayer , at six o'clock .

YORKSHIRE WEST . S HEI'I'IEM . —De Furnival Encampment . —The annual meeting of this Encampment was held in the Freemasons' Hall , Surrey-street , on Friday , the 27 th ult . Sir Knt . AVilliam AVhite , jun ., JE . C , A . G . Dir . of Cers ., and Prov . G . Herald , occupied the throne . The Encampment having been opened , and the minutes of the last meeting confirmedthe E . C . electSir Knt .

, , Graham Stuart , was ably installed by Sir Knt . William Roberts , of Rochdale , who is a P . E . C . ancl Prov . G . Officer of both Yorkshire and Lancashire . The Knights having made homage to their new E . G ., the following were invested as tbe officers for tho ensuing twelve months , viz .: —Sir Knts . J . Rodgers , Prelate ; 11 . Garnett , who acted as Steward on the occasion , ably fulfilled his duty , and a most agreeable evening was spent .

W . M ., presided , and the minutes of the last lodge meeting were read ancl confirmed . Bro . Lavender having resigned the chair to Bro . Dr . JonesG . Treas . presented tbe Rev . Bro . , 1 . G . WoodAV . M .

, , , elect , for installation , ancl ho was inducted into the chair with the accustomed ceremony . The W . M . then appointed Bros . Stock and Spratt his AVardens , and invested Bro . Dr . Barringer the Treasurer , the other offices are to be filled at the next meeting . Bros . F . Binckes and J . How were visitors . After the business of the day was disposed of tho brethren adjourned to the banquet , wliich was of a most agreeable character .

ge Swan Hotel , on Tuesday , 10 th of June ; Bros . AV . AV . AW Beach , M . P ., AV . M ., in the chair ; Alfred Smith , S . W ., and Frederick Binckes ( G . S . ) as J / W . A brother from Trowbridge was ably advanced in the presence of a goodly number of the officers and brethren , aSter ivliicli the lodge was closed and adjourned , the majority of the members having to attend the meeting of the Craft Lodge held on the same evening .
