GEOBGE LODGE ( NO . 23 . )—The brethren of this lodge assembled on Thursday , the 19 th ult ,, at the Freemason's Hall , the W . M . taking his seat at the hour named in the summons , supported by Bro . Dieketts , acting ^» -o . tem . as S . W ., on account of the unavoidable absence of Bro . P . Walsh . Bro . Brandon , P . M :, acted as J . W ., under similar circumstances . Lodge being opened , the minutes , as usual , were read and confirmed . A ballot was taken for the initiation of Mr . Henry Wolfgand

Amdens Beale , that gentleman having been proposed by Bro . AV . AVatson , P . M . and G . S ., and seconded by Bro . Matthew Cooke , P . M . and Sec . The result of the ballot being in the candidate ' s favour , Mr . Beale was introduced , properly prepared , and duly received the honour of being received as an Apprentice brother in the craft . Bro . Berger , of the Jubilee Lodge , 72 , was then balloted for as a joining nimher , ivnd unanimously

declared to be a member of 23 . The next business was the election of AV . M . for the year ensuing , Treas . and Tyler . The election of AV . M . fell upon the S . W . Bro . Walsh ; that ol Treas . Bro . E . Page , re-elected ; and Tyler , Bro . Crawley , also reelected . The last-named brother has held the appointment of Tyler for many years , and through his urbanity and Masonic knowledge fully merits the continued confidence of the lodge . Three brothersMaster Masonsnot holding office in the lodge
