F R E E IVB A 80 M 8 T A V E R N * MESSRS . ELKINGTOl * & COMPANY have the honour to announce to the public , their friends , and the patrons of the FREEMASONS' TAVERN , that they have entered upon the Proprietorship of that extensive Establishment , fully impressed with the many and varied responsibilities attached to its management . During the recent vacation they have been engaged in the renovation , decoration , and embellishment of the various Reception-rooms and other Apartments , in accordance with modern ta ^ te , effecting a complete change in the aspect of the Establishment , which they believe will materially tend to the comfort and convenience of their Patrons . It is the determination of the Proprietors to use their most earnest and unceasing endeavours to maintain the ancient reputation of the Tavern , honoured as it has been for nearly a century by the patronage of Royalty , the Nobility , and the most distinguished classes of Society . They respectfully solicit the support of the Members of the Legal Profession and Parliamentary Agents , to whom they beg to offer every facility for Meetings of Creditors , Arbitrations , Conferences , & c . & c , whilst the several Spacious Apartments afford every accommodation for ' Meetings of Railway , Mining , and other large Companies . The Great Hall of the Establishment ( possessing the advantage of a private entrance ) also affords facilities of an unequalled character for Public Meetings , and Messrs . E . & Co ., whilst making moderation in charge a principle of their management , are prepared especially to consider all applications for Meetings for Religious and Charitable purposes in the most liberal and economic spirit . To the Members of the Masonic Craft , Messrs . E . & Co . address themselves with respectful confidence , trusting to meet with that kind and liberal support ever accorded to sincere endeavours ; and they pledge themselves to be unceasing in their efforts to promote the comfort , and secure the approbation , both collectively and individually , of every kind supporter of the Order . ^ The decorative character of the Saloons and Grand Hall afford peculiar advantages also for the accommodation of Private Parties , and the Proprietors will be happy to receive , in the most liberal spirit , applications for Soirees , Assemblies , and Dinners , from Families whose domestic accommodation may not be sufficiently ample for large parties . Literary , Scientific , Artistic , and other Societies and Corporate Companies , will also be liberally treated with , for their Annual Soirees and Meetings , either at the Tavern or at their own Establishments . The Cuisine of the Tavern is placed under the direction of a chef of acknowledged ability and experience ; whilst the Cellar department , recently supplied with Wines of the rarest vintages , will receive the Proprietors' most especial attention , ensuring to them , they hope , a large increase of public patronage . October , 1855 . ELKINGTON & COMPANY .
