would receive , the unanimous thanks of the Lodge , which he ( Bro . White ) then proposed , and which was carried by acclamation . Bro . Percy Wells , in reply , assured Bro . White and the Brethren that nothing gave him greater happiness than to merit their approbation , and he felt proud that in this instance he had been so pre-eminently successful , but chiefly he

congratulated himself that his humble exertions had met with the entire approbation of the V . W . P . M . Bro . White . Before , however , he sat down , he thought that the Lodge would be wanting in gratitude towards that Brother , if they did not express to him how sincerely they thanked him for the truly fraternal and talented manner in which he presented the testimonial , and he therefore begged to move a vote of thanks , to which ( being carried by acclamation ) Bro . White very gracefully replied .

The Worshipful Master having resumed the gavel , the Lodge was closed , and the Brethren retired to the Christopher Hotel , where they partook of one of those excellent impromptu suppers in which Bro . Amery so greatly excels .

SOUTH WALES . Llanelly . —Prince of Wales ' s Lodge ( No . 969 ) . —The members of this Lodge , lately established in this place , held their general meeting on the 4 th of September , under the able presidency of Bro . Kibbans . The duties were heavy , and as the Junior Warden justly observed , all the ceremonies were most correctly and pleasantly observed , which , together with the uniformly consistent and affable demeanour of the Master , rendered the meeting profitable and interesting . J . W ., Bro . Davies , is an experienced Mason , having served all the offices in the Waterford Lodge , where he was W . M . last year , and is a true specimen of a hearty good-natured seaman : he enlivened the hour of refreshment with some good songs and toasts . May God prosper him on the broad sea ! We sincerely hope that all things may so work together in this newly-formed Lodge , as to display not only the heauty of the system of Masonry , but the excellency of that

morality which the science of Masonry inculcates . The bye laws , we perceive , will require correction and revision before they can be recognized by the Grand Lodge , or sanctioned by the M . W . Grand Master ; and here we may be excused reminding the Brethren that , according to the Book of Constitutions , the byedaws of all Lodges should be submitted for the approval of the powers that be , before they are attempted to be enforced .

STAFEOKDSHIBE . Tipton . —Noah ' s Ark Lodge ( No . 435 ) . — About thirty members and visiting Brethren assembled at the Lodge-room on Friday evening , the 19 th September , when Bro . Patterson was raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M . by Bro . Howells , W . M . There were five Prov . Grand officers present , and the very commodious and admirably adapted new Masonic Hall , as well as the good working of the officers of the Lodge , gave general satisfaction .

receiving the Provincial Grand Lodge . The Lodge No . 45 , it appeared , had been suffered to fall into decay through the absence of any provincial authority ; but it has again reared itself into notice , and during the preceding twelve months many members have been added to the Fraternity .
