David ' s Lodge , celebrated , by anticipation , on Tuesday , December 10 th , the Festival of St . John , in order that their doing so on the regular Lodge night might save tho unpleasantness of clashing with other celebrations of the Patron Saint , at the proper time , in Lancashire , Cheshire , aud Shropshire .
Tlie business of tho Lodge , comprising two initiations , and one raising , having been transacted in the Lodge-room , tho brethren adjoined for refreshment to the Castle Hotel , where Br . Bicknell had provided a most sumptuotts and recherche banquet , which was enjoyed by the select number of eighteen . The W . M . of the Lodge , Br . Stevenson , V . W . P . P . J . G .
