The New Past Grand Officers.—(Provincial.)

Bro . James Bruton svas initialed in the Royal Gloucester Lodge , No . 839 , in 1871 , and svas Worshipful Master in the years 1880 , 1881 , and 18 94 . He lias filled the offices in Provincial Grand Lodge of Senior Grand Deacon , Senior Grand Warden , and Grand Treasurer , to which latter office he lias been re-elected annually since 18 95 . In the Royal

Arch Degree he svas exalted in the Chapter of Unanimity , No . 82 , in 18 72 , and afterwards joined the Royal Gloucester Chapter , No . 8 39 , of svhich he ss-as M . E . Z . in 1 . 887 . I " Provincial Grand Chapter he is a Past Grand Director of Ceremonies , Past Assistant Grand Sojourner , Past Grand

Scribe N ., Past Grand J ., and has been since 18 93 Provincial Grand Treasurer . Bro . Bruton has served nine Stewardships and is a Vice-President of both the Boys' and Girls' Schools , and a Life Governor of the Benevolent Institution .

Bro . Charles Thomas Tyler svill next year have completed a thirty years' connection with the Craft , lie having been initiated in the Wayside Lodge , No . 1393 , in 1873 . He

aftersvards joined the Royal Alfred Lodge and has served as W . M . in both lodges . He is a Past Provincial Grand Deacon of Surrey , and on the retirement of Bro . Greenwood in 18 95 , svas appointed Provincial Grand Secretary . In Royal Arch Masonry he was initiated in St . George ' s Chapter , No . 370 ,

and aftersvards joined the Wayside Chapter , No . 1393 , and the Chertsey Abbey Chapter , No . 2120 , in each of svhich he has filled the chair of First Principal . Bro . Tyler is Past Provincial Grand J ., and is nosv Grand Scribe E . of the province .

BRO . SS ' . AVALDRON . Standard in 18 9 6 . Bro . Waldron was appointed Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies for the first time in 188 4 , and again in 188 5 , ' 86 , ' 87 , and ' 9 6 . In 188 9 he received the

collar of Prov . Senior Grand Warden . Provincial office svas also given to him in the Royal Arch , he having acted as Prov . Grand Scribe E . for several years , while from 18 95 to the present year he lias filled the office of Prov . G . H .

Bro . Stephen F . Pegler svas initiated in the Vernon Lodge , No . 1802 , Retford , in 1882 , and was installed as W . M . in 18 91 ; he is also a member of the St . George ' s Lodge , No . 242 , Doncaster . In the Royal Arch he svas exalted in Magdalen Chapter , No . 242 , in 1885 , founded St . Stephen ' s Chapter , No . 1802 , and lias been First Principal

of both . Bro . Pegler was appointed Provincial Grand Registrar in the Craft in 1892 , and is a Past Provincial Assistant Grand Sojourner , and Past Provincial Grand H . in the Royal Arch . Our good brother has delegated to his little daughter the duty of representing him on the Charity lists , and the name of Miss Dorothy Pegler appears in the

list of Vice-Patrons of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution with 240 votes . She also possesses six votes for the Boys' School and tsvo for the Girls . We should also mention that Bro . Pegler is a member of the Board of General Purposes and of the Board of Benevolence for Nottinghamshire .

Bro . Frederick Hughes Hallett was initiated in the Invicta Lodge , No . 709 , Ashford , in 1871 , and was installed as W . M . in 1874 . In 1887 he was appointed Provincial Grand Registrar . He became a Royal Arch Mason in 1874 , having been exalted in the chapter attached to the Invicta Lodge in 188 3 . This ss-as followed in 188 4 by his

appointment as Provincial Grand Scribe N . of Kent . Bro . Hughes Hallett lias served several limes as Steward for each of the Charities .
