Knights Templar , the ceremony being most ably and impressively performed by Sir Knight H . H . Shirley , P . E . P ., Sir Knight John Read presiding at the organ , thus adding most effectively to the solemnity of the proceedings . Sir Knight MacDougall was elected as E . P . for the ensuing

year . Sir Knight Magnus Ohren was re-elected Treasurer . A Past E . P . 's jewel , proposed by Sir Knight L vegrove , and seconded by Sir Knight Scurrah , Std . Br ., was unanimously voted to Sir Knight John Read for his services during the year , for which Sir Knight Read returned thanks in suitable terms .

The preceptory was closed , and the sir knights adjourned to banquet at the Criterion , the E . P . presiding . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given and received , Sir Knights Liversedge and Hale responding for "The Newly-Installed Knights . "

Sir Knight Scurrah , Std . Br ., responded for " The Officers , " making a most interesting and humorous reply . The very generous offer of Sir Knight N . Goodchild , M . D ., to present the preceptory with a baton for the use oi the E . P . was received with acclamation . A pleasant evening was afterwards brought to a close .

Precentory suggest to the National Great Priory of England that it is very desirable to amend the rule or regulation of the Order by granting to all sir knights who have received Provincial honours , and who shall receive Provincial rank in future , the right of Past rank on the expiration of their term of office , or so long as they shall remain subscribing members of the Order . " This , after some discussion , was

unanimously carried , and the Registrar was instructed to forward the resolution to the Vice-Chancellor of the Order . There being no further business , the preceptory was closed , and immediately afterwards the St . Cuthbert ' s Pripry of Malta was opened , under the presidency of Sir Kni ght C D . Hill Drury , M . The usual Knights Templar toasts were duly honoured , and a most enjoyable evening closed the proceedings .

Ihe GRAND SECRETARY reported continued prosperity of the Order , and said that the number of registered members had now reached 643 . unanimously carried , and the Registrar was instructed to forward the resolution to the Vice-Chancellor of the Order .
