E ., nearly next door to the Surrey Theatre , and within a measurable distance of the Walworth Institute , where as a lad he was discovered by Charles Dickens and encouraged to become an actor . Bro . Toole is making good progress towards recovery after the operation for cataract , and , though suffering from severe depression , is bearing up bravely , and is deeply sensible of the affectionate messages and good wishes he has received from "troops of friends , " old . and new . The matron and staff of the Eye Hospital have done their utmost to cheer the loneliness of this universal favourite , who , in turn , speaks of them in the warmest terms of gratitude .
H . R . H . THE PRINCE OF WALES and the Duchess of York , accompanied by Prince and Princess Alolphus of Teck and Prince Francis of Teck , left town in the forenoon by the Great Western Railway for Windsor , in order to attend to the first anniversary service in memory of the deeply-regretted Duchess of Teck , who passed away on October 27 th last year . The Royal and distinguished party , who where attired in deep mourning , drove from the station to the Castle in two of the Queen ' s carriages
, and afterwards attended a special service in the Albert Chapel , at which the Dsan of Windsor officiated , the music being beautifully given by part of the choir of St . George's Chapel . Before quitting the chapel the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of York inspected the beautiful monument which has been erected in memory of the lamented Duke of Clarence . The Royal party subsequently drove back to the station , and left Windsor on their return to the Metropolis .
AFTER EXTENSIVE REPAIRS lasting over more than _ two years , the church of St . Mildred , Bread-street , was re-opened for worship at a special morning service , attended by Bro . the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress and Mr . Sheriff and Mrs . Alliston , in full State , with the City Marshal and the Sword and Mace Bearers . The church is one of the finest examples of Wren ' s interior architecture , with its extremely handsome cupola and rich decoration , and was opened in 16 S 3 . Very wisely , the fine old oak pews have been preserved , as well as the panellings and altar piece , with its quaint pictures of Moses and Aaron . The carving of the pulpit and sounding-board is superb , and is
attributed to Grinling Gibbons and his pupils . In the course of some previous alterations the beautiful carved altar rails of Charles II . work were removed , and arranged round the front , but have now been restored to their original place , and many other improvements have also been effected to render this one of the brightest and imst characteristic of City churches . The service was conducted by the Vicar , the Rev . C . Lloyd Engstrom , and the special lessons read by Dr . Povah and Prebendary White , Rural Deans of the City . Bro . Archdeacon Sinclair preached , and mentioned that the registers testify that the marriage of Shelly to Mary Wolstoncraft took place here on December 30 th , 1 S 1 G .

The matron and staff of the Eye Hospital have done their utmost to cheer the loneliness of this universal favourite , who , in turn , speaks of them in the warmest terms of gratitude .
H . R . H . THE PRINCE OF WALES and the Duchess of York , accompanied by Prince and Princess Alolphus of Teck and Prince Francis of Teck , left town in the forenoon by the Great Western Railway for Windsor , in order to attend to the first anniversary service in memory of the deeply-regretted Duchess of Teck , who passed away on October 27 th last year . The Royal and distinguished party , who where attired in deep mourning , drove from the station to the Castle in two of the Queen ' s carriages
, and afterwards attended a special service in the Albert Chapel , at which the Dsan of Windsor officiated , the music being beautifully given by part of the choir of St . George's Chapel . Before quitting the chapel the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of York inspected the beautiful monument which has been erected in memory of the lamented Duke of Clarence . The Royal party subsequently drove back to the station , and left Windsor on their return to the Metropolis .
AFTER EXTENSIVE REPAIRS lasting over more than _ two years , the church of St . Mildred , Bread-street , was re-opened for worship at a special morning service , attended by Bro . the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress and Mr . Sheriff and Mrs . Alliston , in full State , with the City Marshal and the Sword and Mace Bearers . The church is one of the finest examples of Wren ' s interior architecture , with its extremely handsome cupola and rich decoration , and was opened in 16 S 3 . Very wisely , the fine old oak pews have been preserved , as well as the panellings and altar piece , with its quaint pictures of Moses and Aaron . The carving of the pulpit and sounding-board is superb , and is
attributed to Grinling Gibbons and his pupils . In the course of some previous alterations the beautiful carved altar rails of Charles II . work were removed , and arranged round the front , but have now been restored to their original place , and many other improvements have also been effected to render this one of the brightest and imst characteristic of City churches . The service was conducted by the Vicar , the Rev . C . Lloyd Engstrom , and the special lessons read by Dr . Povah and Prebendary White , Rural Deans of the City . Bro . Archdeacon Sinclair preached , and mentioned that the registers testify that the marriage of Shelly to Mary Wolstoncraft took place here on December 30 th , 1 S 1 G .
