The picture , which is

one ot his best productions , is of life size , and represents the late distinguished Freemason in his official robes as the Grand Superintendent of the Province of the North and Kast Ridings of Yorkshire . Bro . Hudson has attained considerable fame as a limner of Masonic celebri ies by his happy knack of always obtaining a most striking and

truthful likeness , and his correctness in every detail of Masonic clothing and jewels . The Minerva Lodge are the fortunate possessors of five Masonic portrai's by this celebrated artist . The customary banquet followed the closing of the chapter , the chair being occupied by the First Principal , Comp . 1 nomas Oates , the Prov . Assistant G . Sec . A most

agreeable evening was spent , in the course of which a brief biog raphical sketch of the late Grand Superintendent vvas given by Comp . M . C . Peck , the Prov . G . Scribe E . Prior , assisted by the Prov . Great Officers and ofiicers , on Wednesday , the nth inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Maple street , Newcastle-on-Tyne . The V . E . Prov . Prior of Staffordshire , Warwickshire , and Leicestershire , Sir Knight Charles Fendelow , was received under an arch of steel and saluted . lhe minutes of the last Provincial Priory were read and

confirmed . The roll of preceptories was called , and the E . Preceptor of each gave a very satisfactory report of their respective preceptories . The Prov . Treasurer , Sir Knight- C R . Fry , presented his balance sheet , vvhich vvas passed , with a vote of thanks to him .

Bro . Hudson has attained considerable fame as a limner of Masonic celebri ies by his happy knack of always obtaining a most striking and

truthful likeness , and his correctness in every detail of Masonic clothing and jewels . The Minerva Lodge are the fortunate possessors of five Masonic portrai's by this celebrated artist . Prior , assisted by the Prov . Great Officers and ofiicers , on Wednesday , the nth inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Maple street , Newcastle-on-Tyne . The V . E . Prov . Prior of Staffordshire , Warwickshire , and Leicestershire , Sir Knight Charles Fendelow , was received under an arch of steel and saluted . lhe minutes of the last Provincial Priory were read and
