of their respective high offices of the Craft . The Worshipful Master next submitted the toast of " The R . W . the Prov . G . M . of Norths and Hunts , the Earl of Euston ; the Deputy Prov . G . M ., Bro . Butler Wilkins ; and the rest of the Prov . Grand Officers , Present and Past . " He adverted to the great interest the Earl of Euston and also his Deputy , Bro . Butler Wilkins , took in Masonry , and held them up as model Masons and brethren
whose example they would all do well to follow . In replying to the toast , Bro . Butler Wilkins , on behalf of the Earl of Euston , thankeel the lodge for having elected him an honorary member , and also for conferring the same honour upon him ( the D . P . G . M . ) at the previous meeting He remarked that as regarded the work of the Prov . Grand Master , he thought no province could be more highly favoured than that of Northamptonshire and
Huntingdonshire in having one to preside over them who so thoroughly entered into it as did Lord ICuston . Every single thing that occurred in the province he desired to be made cognisant of , and as such great interest was shown by his lordship , they ought also to take equal interest in supporting him . Of the Provincial Grand Officers , he said they were all men who had done good work in their respective lodges , and were now reaping their reward . Bro . Wilkins said he had
always had the interest of the Wentworth Lodge at heart , and was glad to see the progress it had made in the past few years . He was further very pleased to see present that evening Bro . B . Aris , who was one of the founders of the lodge . He hoped the lodge would now see its way to progress further into the Craft , and endeavour to establish a Royal Arch or Mark Lodge , so as to create increased interest in the Craft among the brethren .
Bro . J . T . Parker proposed " The Worshipful Master , Bro . J . T . Reid . " He remarked he had known Bro . Reid for some years as a good , hardworking , and energetic Mason , and one who had the interest of the Craft at heart , and was highly gratified he had that day b ; en elected to the office of W . M . of the Wentworth Lodge . He had special pleasure in proposing the toast of his health , as he felt sure Bro . Reid would do his best to further the interests
of the lodge in every way . He trusted that he might have a prosperous year of office , and that at the end he mi ght feel he had gained the respect and esteem of the whole of the brethren for the manner in which he had carried out his duties . The toast was most tieai lily accepted . The W . M . thanked Bro . J . T . Parker for the kind manner in which he had proposed the toast , and also the
brethren for the way in which they had received it . His abilities , he felt , had to some extent been exaggerated , but still he should endeavour to discharge the oneroui duties of the high office to which he had been elected to the best of his abilities , and he hoped he should give satisfaction at the end of his jear of office . A great deal of the success of his work would , he said , depend upon his officers , and he felt that in the brethren he had invested
that day he should have an excellent staff of workers , who would assist him in every possible way they could . "The Immediate Past Master , Bro . W . W . Packwood , " was then given by the W . M ., and duly acknowledged by that brother . " The Installing Master , Bro . J . VV . Greasley , " who had been obliged to leave , was proposed by Bro . Owen Parker , and heartily drunk .
" The Pasl Masters of the Wentworth Lodge " was given by Bro . Chamberlain , and replied to b y Bro . Packwood ; " The Visiting Brethren " by Bro . Bradfield , and responded to by Bro . Cooper ; "'Ihe Masonic Charities "was submitted by Bro . Jowett ; and " The Officers of the Lodge" by Bro . Packwood , and replied to by Bro . O . Parker . The Worshipful Master next proposed " The M . W . G . M . of England , H . R . H . the Prince of Wales ; the Right Hon .
the Earl of Lathom , Pro G . M . ; the Right Hon . the Earl of Mount Edgcu-nbe , Deputy G . M . ; and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " and the toast was most heartily received . Bro . Butler Wilkins , D . P . G . M ., the only Grand Officer present , replied to the toast , and in the course of his remarks spoke in high terms of praise of the manner in which each of the Grand OfhYers alluded to carried out the duties
of their respective high offices of the Craft .
O . Parker .
