lodge with a seal impress . After the business had been transacted , the brethren sat down to an admirably served banquet , and a very pleasant evening , and one long to be remembered in the history of the lodge , was spent . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured ,

M ., in responding , referred in commendatory terms to the manner in which the business of the lodge was conducted , and congratulated the brethren upon the very influential and prosperous condition of the lodge .

After the lodge was closed , the brethren sat down to a sumptuous banquet provided in the Town Hall by Mrs . A . Maskill , the newly-installed W . M . presiding . After the dinner the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were

received with enthusiasm . "The Health of the P . G . M . of W . Yorkshire" was received with great enthusiasm , and was eloquently replied to . Bro . Clarke , P . P . G . R ., responded on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge . Bro . Staniland proposed "The Health of the new W . M ., " and referred to the fact that he and the W . M . had been

brought up in the same office at Thorne , and had been firm friends during life . If the new W . M . threw into his Masonic work as much energy as he did into his professional duties , the interests of the Thorne lodge were safe . Bro . Peace , W . M ., suitably and feelingly replied . They had formed the Lodge of St . Nicholas at Thorne in no spirit of rivalry to their neighbours , but simply because they

felt that it was very inconvenient at all times of the year to have to drive a considerable distance to attend to lodg e duties . Peace , goodwill , and harmony had reigned supreme in their lodge at Thorne during its first year , and he hoped this state of things would continue . Bro . Kenyon , J . D ., proposed "The I . P . M ., Bro . Capt . Dove , " and the toast was briefly replied to .

To " The Health of the Installing Master , " given from the chair , Bro . Gardiner replied . " The Wardens and other Officers" was given by Bro . J . Hemingbrough , P . P . G . Std . Br ., and replied to by several of the brethren , including Bros . J . H . Bletcher , S . W . ; Ashlin , J . W . ; and G . Winter , P . M ., S . D . Bro . ' ] . Constable , Sec , gave "The Visiting Brethren , "

and the toast was received with enthusiasm , and responded to by representatives of all the lodges present . The other toasts included "The Masonin Charities , " given by Bro . the Rev . J . Le Gassick , and "Prosperity to Sister Lodges . " In the course of the afternoon , the brethren present adjourned to a neighbouring garden , where they were formed into a well-arranged group and photographed .

After the lodge was closed , the brethren sat down to a sumptuous banquet provided in the Town Hall by Mrs . A . Maskill , the newly-installed W . M . presiding . After the dinner the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were

received with enthusiasm . "The Health of the P . G . M . of W . Yorkshire" was received with great enthusiasm , and was eloquently replied to . Bro . Clarke , P . P . G . R ., responded on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge . Bro . Staniland proposed "The Health of the new W . M ., " and referred to the fact that he and the W . M . had been

brought up in the same office at Thorne , and had been firm friends during life . If the new W . M . threw into his Masonic work as much energy as he did into his professional duties , the interests of the Thorne lodge were safe . Bro . Peace , W . M ., suitably and feelingly replied . They had formed the Lodge of St . Nicholas at Thorne in no spirit of rivalry to their neighbours , but simply because they

felt that it was very inconvenient at all times of the year to have to drive a considerable distance to attend to lodg e duties . Peace , goodwill , and harmony had reigned supreme in their lodge at Thorne during its first year , and he hoped this state of things would continue . Bro . Kenyon , J . D ., proposed "The I . P . M ., Bro . Capt . Dove , " and the toast was briefly replied to .

To " The Health of the Installing Master , " given from the chair , Bro . Gardiner replied . " The Wardens and other Officers" was given by Bro . J . Hemingbrough , P . P . G . Std . Br ., and replied to by several of the brethren , including Bros . J . H . Bletcher , S . W . ; Ashlin , J . W . ; and G . Winter , P . M ., S . D . Bro . ' ] . and the toast was received with enthusiasm , and responded to by representatives of all the lodges present . The other toasts included "The Masonin Charities , " given by Bro . the Rev . J . Le Gassick , and "Prosperity to Sister Lodges . " In the course of the afternoon , the brethren present adjourned to a neighbouring garden , where they were formed into a well-arranged group and photographed .
