Leonard Lodge , No . 1805 , in December , 1884 , and served all the offices and was Steward to the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys in 1893 with a list of £ 50 . He is a Life Governor of this Institution , also the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution .
Shakespeare ' s play of ' The Tempest is to be performed by the members of the Oxford University Dramatic Society , on Wednesday , the 31 st inst . and following days . In all there will be six evening performances and two matinees . The part of Miranda will be taken by Miss Cockerall , and Miss Farmer will also be included in the cast , which will again be drawn largely from Trinity College .

Worshipful Master in January , 1893 . He is also a companion of the Empire Royal Arch Chapter . Bro . Jamieson has served the following Stewardships for the
Institutions—four for the Benevolent Institution , three for the Boys ' , and one for the Girls ' , and has qualified as a Vice-Patron of the Benevolent Institution , and a Life Governor of the Boys' School .

On removing to Norwich he joined the Social Lodge , and having served through the various offices , was installed its W . M . on the 9 th inst ., an account of the meeting being given in another
column . Bro . Fasola , who is well-known as the founder and former proprietor of the Cafe Royal , Brighton , and for six or seven years the proprietor of the Cafe Royal at Norwich , is deservedly popular as a caterer , an allround sportsman , and a genial friend , and though he claims descent from Christopher Columbus , and is an Italian by birth , he is proud of being a naturalised Englishman .

Plymouth In the course of nearly four hours' sitting the brethren dismissed one of these and deferred three . The remainder were relieved with a total of . £ 630 . There were four recommendations to the Grand Master for £ 40 each , and seven for ^ 30 each . Ten grants were made of , £ 20 each , four of ^ 10 each , and four of £ S each .

Sincere congratulations are due to the Executive of this admirable Institution , and especially to Miss Davis and her teaching staff , on the excellent results , somewhat we suppose unexpectedly , attained to by those of the pupils who entered in December for the annual
examination of the College of Preceptors . We say ' unexpectedl y , " because , in common with most other large schools , the one in question . suffered from an extensive visitation of illness during the best part of last year , causing , of course , considerable interference with
the course of study . It speaks volumes , therefore , for the good grounding and the sound work continuously done , that out of 41 girls who entered no less than 40 •successfull y passed . It is interesting lo luok back three years , and 10 find that for the four past examinations of the College 161 girls in all have been sent up and

that only four have failed , 157 having passed the ' ordeal successfully . These are gratifying facts that ' should be known to every one who is interested in the I Royal Masonic Institution for Girls . \

of the E . C . " In the course of his speech he said that Sir Knight Nelson Prower had attained very high positions in the Craft , Arch , Mark , and other Degrees . That Jay he had taken upon himself yet another distinguished office and he believed that he would carry out the duties well . The E . C , in reply , spoke in very complimentary terms of several of the members who had assisted him in various Orders of Masonry , and whose friendship he valued most highly . The proposer of the toast had truly said that he
( the speaker ) had tilled several prominent positions in different Degrees . It would be invidious for him to speak in praise of any one Degree in particular , they were all good . He hoped to be among the sir knights of the old Mount Calvary for many years and to do his best to enhance the prosperity of the encampment in every possible way . Sir Knight Dr . Coffin responded for " The Visitors . " A fciv other toasts were given and the proceedings terminated . During the evening Sir Knights F . W . Driver and R . C . Fillingham contributed several recitations .

ANNUAL DINNER OF THE THOMAS VALENTINE LOWE , No , 21 . The annual dinner of the above lodge took place on Friday evening , the 19 th inst ., in Crozier ' s Imperia Cafe , Belfast . There was a large attendance of members , visitors , and lady friends . The dinner was served in excellent style by Bro . Crozier , who did everything
in his power to merit the approval of the lodge . Bro . Wm . Sterling , W . M ., presided , and called upon the Secretary , Bro . R . B . Andrews , P . P . G . S . B ., to read the letters of apology which had been received from the following brethren : Bros . Thomas Valentine , J . P ., D . P . G . M . Antrim ; George Andrews , J . M ., who had conducted the business of the lodge during the past year in such an harmonious manner that it endeared him to all the members , and he was pleased to be the medium of conveying to Bro . jewel , Masonic pendant , and gold ring . Bro . HICKS suitably replied . A varied programme of songs and recitations were well rendered by Miss' Hettie Bell , Miss McAlpine , Mr . T . H . We may here mention that Mr . Wm . Gibson contributed much to the evening ' s entertainment b y his rendering of comic songs . During the evening Miss Gibb acted very efficiently as accompanist . Bro . J . Minniece manipulated the violin , and dancing was commenced and kept up to an early hour in the morning , when all separated well pleased with their reunion .
We are glad to hear that Bro . Lord Herschell ( Lord Chancellor ) has so far recovered from his recent attack of influenza , that he is expected to be able to resume his official duties on Alonday next . In the February number of " Cassell ' s Magazine" Mr .
Arnold White will open a discussion on the question , " Shall our sons emigrate ? " taking the affirmative view . To the same number Mr . Herbert Russell , son of the v / AU known writer , Mr . Clark Russell , will contribute a paper on " A Night in a Light Ship , " which is illustrated by Mr . Seppings Wright .
