During the evening the "loving cup " was passed round , and the VVoishipful Master ' s health drunk . The menu was excellent . Vocal music , with pianoforte accompaniment hy Bro . Sanderson , Org ., was well rendered b y Bros . VV . H . Dawson ( bass ) , Farmery ( alto ) of the York Minster Choir , Peck ( a Masonic song ) , Laughton , James Smith , and Scoby . An exceedingly pleasant meeting was spent .
KINGSTCN-ON-THAMES . Dobie Lodge ( No . 889 ) . —There was a full attendance at the meeting of this lodge on January 17 th at the Kingston Hotel , where the lodge is now held , and Bro . James Edgell , VV . M ., was supported by Bros . Bond , S . W ., and Long , P . M ., as J . W ., and his oiher officers . There were several visitors , among them being an American
brother of high standing in the Craft as practised in the United States of America . After the transacti > n of special business relating to lodge affairs , Bro . E . VV . Whitehead , late of the Bagshaw Lodge , was elected a joining member , and Bro . G . Cowen was raised to the degree of a M . M . Propositions were taken for another joining member and for an initiate , and after labour the brethren partook ol

sponse to the toast of his health he said that both Masonic and civic honours had been showered upon him of late . He felt doubly grateful at b ing the head of a local chapter like No . 1589 and a representative in the Court of Common Council of the Ward of Farringdon Without . He should endeavour to discharge both positions satisfactorily .
Comp . Ock- nden , in replying to the toast of " The Visitor , " spoke in very complimentary terms of the chapter and the working of Comp . Lieut .-Col . Radcliffe . Comps . T . Farthing , P . Z ., and H . W . Clemow , P . Z ., acknowledged the toast of " The Past Principals . " The M . E . Z . gave the toast of "The Installing
Principal , " and said that the chapter was under great obligations to Comp . Lieut .-Col . Radcliffe for his readiness at ail times to assist in the working of the Royal Arch , of which Degree he was so distinguished an ornament . The pledge , having been warmly received , was duly responded to by the companion honoured , and the proceedings terminated .

Z ., and H . W . Clemow , P . Z ., acknowledged the toast of " The Past Principals . " The M . E . Z . gave the toast of "The Installing
Principal , " and said that the chapter was under great obligations to Comp . Lieut .-Col .
