Arthur Barritt , whoremarking that Charity was at the root of true
Free-, masonry , expressed a hope that the three noble Charities connected with the Order vvould be supported by all Masons to the best of their ability . Bro . Edmund Gowers , P . M ., P . P . G . O ., whose name was connected with the toast , took the opportunity to mention that the candidature for the Boys' School of the son of a late member of that lodge was proceeding , satisfactorily .
In support of that very deserving case , he was , as many ot them were aware , going on Tuesday next to the annual Festival of the Institution as a Steward . When he started on that undertaking a few months ago , he felt in his own mind that if he raised about £ 15 he should have a list of which he need not be ashamed j but through the kindness and liberality of the brethren he was happy to say that his
expectations were more than realised , for his . list now amounted to between £ 46 and £ 47 ; He should very much like to raise that to £ 50 , and he appealed to those present to help him . A plate was then passed round the table , and Bro . Gowers announced , amidst great applause , that the amount had been contributed and a few shillings to spare . An excellent musical programme was given during the

A plate was then passed round the table , and Bro . Gowers announced , amidst great applause , that the amount had been contributed and a few shillings to spare .
