selection from " Faust " on the English concertina , accompanied by Bro . Chas . Daber on the piano . Last , but not least , came Bro . Oliver Gaggs , of the Sir Arthur Sullivan Lodge , who gave two fine performances on the flute , viz ., " Concert Stuck , " by " Popp , " and " Study caprice , " by "Terscha . " In both performances , which were most artistically rendered , he was accompanied by

Bro . Daber , and it is scarcely necessary to add that Bro . Gaggs was rapturously applauded . Other songs and recitations were rendered by Bros . Thistlethwaite and Heywood , of the Chorlton Lodge , and Bro . H . Walmsley . Everyone was highly delighted with the evening ' s entertainment , which will always be remembered with pleasure .

"The Health of the Musical Brethren" was drunk with enthusiasm . . WAREHAM . —Unity Lodge ( No . 386 ) . —At the usual monthly meeting of this lodge , held at the lodge room , Town Hall , on Tuesday evening , the S 2 th inst ., Bro . J . VV . Tribbett , P . G . S . HULL . —Kingston Lodge ( No . 1010 ) . —At the last regular meeting of this lodge , held in the Masonic Hall , Worship-street , the W . M ., Bro . W . H . Wellsted , C . E ., and the brethren , had the honour of receiving the first official visit in Hull of the newly-elected Worshipful Deputy Pcov . Grand Master , Bio . the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett , who was accompanied by Bro . Walter Reynolds , t

M . feelingly alluded to the loss the Craft generally had sustained in the lamentable death of the late Dep . Prov . Grand Master , Bro . J . Pearson Bell , M . D ., J . P . He remarked that he need not dilate upon his many excellences , as they were well known to the brethren . Dr . Bell was one

of the oldest Masons , and one of the most energetic workers , continuing to discharge his arduous duties until within a short time of his death . The W . M . concluded by asking ( he lodge to pass a vote of condolence with Mrs . Bell and the members of the family in their sad bereavement , Bro . E . J . Fullerton , P . M ., seconded the resolution , which was passed in respectful silence .

Ihe W . M . then , in the name of the brethren , extended a most hearty and cordial welcome to the newly-elected Dep . Prov . Grand Master , remarking that ithey should at all times be pleased to be honoured with his visits . . Br 0 , the Hon . I . P . M ., after responding to the toast of "The Health of the Immediate Past and Installing Master , " proceeded in a few appropriate remarks to present Bro . James Sparks , P . M ., P . P . G . S . B . Wilts , in the name of the lodge , with a handsome gold founder's jewel as a token of the brethrens ' appreciation of Bro . Sparks' valuable services from the formation of the lodge in 1 S 69 , and expressed a hope that they would be continued for many years . Bro . Sparks

being now the only member left who had assisted in its foundation . Bro . Sparks , in the course of his reply , referred to the many changes which had occurred in their lodge during the period referred to , and expressed the great pleasure he felt that , though retiring from the more active duties of the work , the conduct of its affairs would be in able hands , and that there was such good promise of a successful future . He

also reviewed at length the great progress of Masonry during the seventeen years he had been a member of this lodge , as shown by the latest returns of lodges , and particularly at the present proud position of the Charitable Institutions . He alluded to the losses sustained by death and resignation , and exhorted them to increased efforts in the future , for the success of the Craft and the promotion

of each others welfare . The jewel , which was specially designed , bearing an appropriate inscription , was most tastefully executed by Bro . George Kenning , of Little Britain , London . Other toasts followed , being interspersed with songs by various brethren , which rendered the meeting a most pleasant one .

HALIFAX—De Warren Lodge ( No . 1302 ) . — The annual meeting of this lodge was held at private rooms , White Swan Hotel , on the nth inst . The lodge was opened by the W . M ., Bro . Wainhouse , and some formal business transacted . The W . M . elect , Bro . Sutcliffe Greenwood , was duly presented to the Installing Master , Bro . Normanton , P . M ., P . P . G . D . A Board of Installed Masters having been , foraed , Bro . Greenwood was duly

by Bro . Jones , P . M ., and that to the brethren by Bro . Burslem , P . M . " Hearty good wishes " were tendered , and the lodge was closed . In the evening the Festival of St . John was celebrated by a banquet , served in a style which deservedly received the commendations of the brethren by the host , Bro . Edge . The W . M . presided , and in proposinrr the toast of "The

Queen , " expressed the hope that as her Majesty was the patron of the Order , her jubilee would be marked by some significant event in the annals of Freemasonry , such as the founding of a Masonic Charity , or the substantial augmentation of the funds of those already in existence . The other loyal and Masonic toasts were given from the chair .

"The Health of the Worshipful Master , " proposed in felicitous terms by his immediate predecessor , was received with much enthusiasm , the customary song , " Here ' s to his health , " being sung with fine effect by Bro . J . VVhittaker , one of Manchester ' s most popular vocalists . The remaining toasts included " The Visiting Brethren , " "The Installing Master , Bro . Gillman , P . P . G . S . D ., " who ,

as the father of the lodge , " has installed every Master since its consecration , and is held in affectionate regard by every member of the lodge ; "The Masonic Charities , " "The Newly-invested Officers , " " The P . M . 's of the Trafford Lodge , " and the Tyler ' s toast . The pleasures of the evening were greatly enhanced by the singing of Bros . VVhittaker , F . Gordon , VV . O . Pettitt , T . Carter , F . J . Johnson , and other brethren .

YORK . — Eboracum Lodge ( No . 1611 ) . —On Thursday , the 14 th inst ., this lod ge paid a fraternal visit to Thirsk , at the invitation of the members of the Falcon Lodge , No . 1416 , in that town . In the spring the Eboracums had entertained the Falcons , and the latter took this opportunity of reciprocating courtesies . The Eboracum brethren , numbering over twenty , left York by the five o ' clock train , and at Thirsk Station were met by a

deputation from the Falcon Lodge , with carriages , and were conveyed to the Masonic Hall , in the'Castle Yard , where they found a warm and cordial greeting awaiting them . At 7 p . m . the Falcon Lodge was opened ' by the VV . M ., Bro . Z . Wright , supported by Bros . Reginald Bell , P . M . ; Henry Smith , P . M . ; Geo . Ayre , P . M . ; T . J . Wilkinson , P . M . ; Chas . Greensides , P . M . ; VV . Coltman , P . M . ; Dr . Linford , S . W . ; Dr . Hartley . T . W .: Rev . E .

Richardson , S . D . ; J . T . Hansell , Sec , and many others ; whilst amongst the Eboracums were Bros . A . T . B . Turner , W . M . ; T . B . Whytehead , P . M . ; J . T . Seller , P . M . ; Geo . Balmford , P . M . ; W . Brown , VV . AI . elect ; and most of the other officers of the lodge . The VV . M . of the Falcon Lodge expressed the pleasure he felt at being able to welcome their York visitors , and the W . M . of the Eboracum Lodge responded . The Deputy Provincial

Lrrand Master ( Bro . the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett ) being here announced , the members of Provincial Grand Lodge formed a deputation to receive him , and he was conducted into the room and saluted . He then proceeded to address a few remarks to the brethren , and expressed his pleasure at being able to visit the lodge and witness so truly fraternal a gathering . Such interchange of the courtesies of the Craft were calculated to be of great use , and he should

be glad to encourage the good spirit thus exhibited . After the close of the lodge the Thirsk brethren entertained their guests at a capital supper , which had been supplied by Bro . Farmery , the Tyler . At its conclusion Bro . X . Wright proceeded to give the usual loyal toasts , and then that of "The Provincial Grand

Lodge , " responded to by Bro . T . B . Whytehead , P . P . G . W ., who also proposed "The Health of the W . M . of the Falcon Lodge . " Bro . Wright responded , and gave " Prosperity to the Eboracum Lodge , " responded to by Bros . Turner and VV . Brown .

Bro . T . J . Wilkinson , P . M ., then read a short but extremely interesting paper on " The Masonic Temple , " for which he received the cordial thanks of thc party . This was followed by other toasts and songs , and a right merry evening was spent , the visitors leaving for the " station at 12 o clock , whence they returned to York by the midnight mail .

EYE . — Hartismere Lodge ( No . 1603 ) . —The annual meeting of this lodge was held at the Lodge room , on Wednesday evening , the Cth inst ,, when Bro . Edward Symonds was installed as VV . AI . for the ensuing year . The members of the lodge present were Bros .

I . P . M ., after responding to the toast of "The Health of the Immediate Past and Installing Master , " proceeded in a few appropriate remarks to present Bro . James Sparks , P . M ., P . P . G . S . B . Wilts , in the name of the lodge , with a handsome gold founder's jewel as a token of the brethrens ' appreciation of Bro . Sparks' valuable services from the formation of the lodge in 1 S 69 , and expressed a hope that they would be continued for many years . Bro . Sparks

being now the only member left who had assisted in its foundation . Bro . Sparks , in the course of his reply , referred to the many changes which had occurred in their lodge during the period referred to , and expressed the great pleasure he felt that , though retiring from the more active duties of the work , the conduct of its affairs would be in able hands , and that there was such good promise of a successful future . He

also reviewed at length the great progress of Masonry during the seventeen years he had been a member of this lodge , as shown by the latest returns of lodges , and particularly at the present proud position of the Charitable Institutions . He alluded to the losses sustained by death and resignation , and exhorted them to increased efforts in the future , for the success of the Craft and the promotion

of each others welfare . The jewel , which was specially designed , bearing an appropriate inscription , was most tastefully executed by Bro . George Kenning , of Little Britain , London . Other toasts followed , being interspersed with songs by various brethren , which rendered the meeting a most pleasant one .

Queen , " expressed the hope that as her Majesty was the patron of the Order , her jubilee would be marked by some significant event in the annals of Freemasonry , such as the founding of a Masonic Charity , or the substantial augmentation of the funds of those already in existence . The other loyal and Masonic toasts were given from the chair .

"The Health of the Worshipful Master , " proposed in felicitous terms by his immediate predecessor , was received with much enthusiasm , the customary song , " Here ' s to his health , " being sung with fine effect by Bro . J . VVhittaker , one of Manchester ' s most popular vocalists . The remaining toasts included " The Visiting Brethren , " "The Installing Master , Bro . Gillman , P . P . G . S . D ., " who ,

as the father of the lodge , " has installed every Master since its consecration , and is held in affectionate regard by every member of the lodge ; "The Masonic Charities , " "The Newly-invested Officers , " " The P . M . 's of the Trafford Lodge , " and the Tyler ' s toast . The pleasures of the evening were greatly enhanced by the singing of Bros . VVhittaker , F . Gordon , VV . O . Pettitt , T . Carter , F . J . Johnson , and other brethren .

YORK . — Eboracum Lodge ( No . 1611 ) . —On Thursday , the 14 th inst ., this lod ge paid a fraternal visit to Thirsk , at the invitation of the members of the Falcon Lodge , No . 1416 , in that town . In the spring the Eboracums had entertained the Falcons , and the latter took this opportunity of reciprocating courtesies . The Eboracum brethren , numbering over twenty , left York by the five o ' clock train , and at Thirsk Station were met by a

deputation from the Falcon Lodge , with carriages , and were conveyed to the Masonic Hall , in the'Castle Yard , where they found a warm and cordial greeting awaiting them . At 7 p . m . the Falcon Lodge was opened ' by the VV . M ., Bro . Z . Wright , supported by Bros . Reginald Bell , P . M . ; Henry Smith , P . M . ; Geo . Ayre , P . M . ; T . J . Wilkinson , P . Orde-Powlett ) being here announced , the members of Provincial Grand Lodge formed a deputation to receive him , and he was conducted into the room and saluted . He then proceeded to address a few remarks to the brethren , and expressed his pleasure at being able to visit the lodge and witness so truly fraternal a gathering . Such interchange of the courtesies of the Craft were calculated to be of great use , and he should

be glad to encourage the good spirit thus exhibited . After the close of the lodge the Thirsk brethren entertained their guests at a capital supper , which had been supplied by Bro . Farmery , the Tyler . At its conclusion Bro . X . Wright proceeded to give the usual loyal toasts , and then that of "The Provincial Grand

Lodge , " responded to by Bro . T . B . Whytehead , P . P . G . W ., who also proposed "The Health of the W . M . of the Falcon Lodge . " Bro . Wright responded , and gave " Prosperity to the Eboracum Lodge , " responded to by Bros . Turner and VV . Brown .

Bro . T . J . Wilkinson , P . M ., then read a short but extremely interesting paper on " The Masonic Temple , " for which he received the cordial thanks of thc party . This was followed by other toasts and songs , and a right merry evening was spent , the visitors leaving for the " station at 12 o clock , whence they returned to York by the midnight mail .

EYE . — Hartismere Lodge ( No . 1603 ) . —The annual meeting of this lodge was held at the Lodge room , on Wednesday evening , the Cth inst ,, when Bro . Edward Symonds was installed as VV . AI . for the ensuing year . The members of the lodge present were Bros .
