had not seen since the consecration . Bro . Sir John Monckton , whom they were proud to number as an honorary member , had honoured them with his presence , and Bro . Sir Reginald Hanson they recognised as their principal founder and Past Master . They also welcomed Bro . Fenn , that most excellent worker , whose impressive rendering of the duties of Chaplain at the consecration they would never forget . There were also
present Bros . Sm-. thett , P . G . D ., and Frank Hanson , Grand Steward . The Grand Officers saw the lodge on its fifth anniversary , and he trusted they were satisfied it hid justified its existence . Their presence would give the members additional enthusiasm in their work , and put new life into these who composed the lodge , that they might be humble but worthy followers of ( he example set them in Grand Lodge .
Bro . Sir John Monckton , P . G . W ., said it might be a bit rebellious , but he would contest the utterance of the W . M ., who said that Bro . Fenn was the only Grand Officer present who took part in the consecration of the lodge . H . ' . ( Bro . Monckton ) took a very active part in lhat cons crayon . He was invited to he S . VV ., and with a very bad cold on a very foggy nieht he duly arrived at Willesden Junction . A porter directed him to a hall where the Christian Brothers were holding their annual meeting ,
and aftera journey across a oa ' -yard he arrived at another hall and a mother ' s meeting . As he was sneezing so badly he went home , and the lodge made him an honorary member , and he cculd fay he lo . k a very active part duiing the consecration ceremony . He was repljing to the toast of Ihe Grand Officers for the third time in six days , and could not say anything new . They must judge the Grand Officers as they saw them . They were a fairly well set-up lot that n ght , and the bulk equalled the sample . Bro . T . Fenn , P . G . W ., also responded .
Bro . C . | . Marrian , I . P . M ., in proposing the next toast , said that , as good wine needed no bush , < o " The Health of the VV . AL" needed no elaborate speech to recommend it . Bro . Stanley Machin was one of his earliest and most esteemed friends , and he could look back upon 30 years' friendship with his family . A happy year of offi : e had , therefore , been rendered doubly so by the pleasure of installing Bro . Michin as his successor and of proposing his health . Bro . Stanley Machin , W . M ., who was very heartily received , said he felt it difficult
to return thanks in an adequate manner for the I . P . M . ' s kindness in proposing the toast . The I . P . M . had alluded to the lengthened friendship that hid existed between them—a friendship which had been mutually appreciated . In connection with the Willesden Lodge , he could look back upon many friendships which had been cemented and increased , and also upon mere acquaintances that had b : en ripened , he was glad to say , into sincere and pure friendships . They were accepting an unknown quintity in him as their W . M . He appreciated their kindness and would do his utmost to deserve
their confidence . _ He could not fail to reaVue the responsibility of the proud position he held , which was increased by the splendid working done in the lodge by preceding Masters . In returning them sincere thanks for the fraternil ' way in which they had received the toast he could only say his earnest efforts would bl made to carry on thi work in the future as it had been carried on in the past . He only trusted that w ' . ien his turn came to hand over his duties to his successor he might be found deserving of at least some small share of their kind words *» nd expressions .
The W . M . next proposed ' * The I . P . M ., " who he said had fulfilled therr progn istications . The I . P . M . was able to look back upon a year of work that might be equalled and would never be excelled . So long as the lodge lasted so long would Bro . Marrian ' s work remain a bright and happy example . The I . P . M . took a most active part as Secretary in the concept ! in of the lodge and did such work as they ' could never forget . In presenting Bro . Marrian , I . P . M ., with a Past Master ' s jewel he asked him to accept it as a small token of their sincsre respect and petsinll esteem and as a sm \ U * mark of grateful admiration for work done .
Bro . C . J . Marrian , I . P . M ., returned thanks for the kind references of Bro . Fenn to his work and to the W . M . for his kindly proposition of the toast . He heartily appreciated the gift of the handsome jewel which would always be the proudest jewel he could wear coming from a lodge in which he had taken such interest and of which he was a founder . He had had a difficult task to perform , being the first Master to reach the chair who was new to the work , and was therefore anxious to do his very best . If he had
had any small measure of success he must attribute it entirely to the kind support he had received from the officers . Speaking for the Past Masters he was sure the VV . M . would received the same support , and could , therefore , rely upon a similar amount of success . For "The Visitors "—which included the largest number of visiting brethren ever entertained by the Iodge—Bros . Ivey , P . G . Stwd ., who initiated the VV . M ., and Rev . S . T . H . Saunders , P . P . G . Chap . Middx ., returned suitable thanks .
" The Past Masters" was acknowledged by Bros . Sir Reginald Hanson , Bart ., M . P ., P . M . ; Claude Robson , P . M . ; Butler , P . M . ; and Bartley Dennis , P . M . " The Treasurer and Secretary " and " The Officers , " having been duly honoured a red letter night in the history of the Willesden Lodge was terminated by the Tyler ' s toast . Bro . Reynolds Wood , Org ., was ably assisted in the musical programme by Master Willie Gammage , and Bros . Arthur Johnson and Herbert Schartau , the litter of whom contributed several humorous songs in his own inimitable manner .
Molesey Lodge , No . 2473 . . On theSth inst ,, under the gavel of Bro . C . G . Sherwood , W . M ., the above lodge held what is practically the last of its summer meetings , at the Caste Hotel , East Molesey . On this , the first occasion since his installation , the , W . M ., well supported by his P . Ms ., amongst whom were Bros . C . O . Burgess , P . M ., P . P . S . G . D ., and Prov . S . G . W . of Berks ; E . L . Berry , P . M ., P . P I . G . D . ; and VValter Dinnis , I . P . M .,
had the opportunity of proving that the choice of the brethren had not fallen in a barren spot , the ceremony of initiation being admirably worked by him . As is usual at thc meetings of the Molesey Lodge , the Fourth Degree wis not in any way behind its predecessors , and the hospitality of the lodge was shared and appreciated by many wellknown Masons < f the Craft , amongst whom were Bro . Percy Hutton , W . M . 224 G , and many other biethren .
The W . M . proved himself no less at home at the banqueting table than in the working of the lodge . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts b : ing duly given , the evening was enlivened and tendered highly successful by the admirable rendering of songs and music by Bros . Berry , P . M . ; C . S . Mart Walker , Botwright , and the Organist and accompanist , Bro . II . J . Foan , and in time to catch the return train to London , the Tyler's toast was drunk , and all separated with regrets that it would probably not be before March next that they would again be able to meet in a similar genial manner .

Stanley Machin was presented as W . M . elect , and was duly installed by Bro . Marrian , I . P . M ., to whose working reference has already been made . The W . In giving " The Grand Officers , " the VV . M . said the Willesden Lodge was particularly favoured , as they had amongst them an array of Grand Officers such as they

had not seen since the consecration .
