He would have liked to have seen Bro . Richards , the S . W ., in the chair , but as that brother had declined to go on , he—the speaker—felt no compunction in accepting the office , the responsibilities of which he would endeavour to discharge satisfactorily .

The toast of " The Visitors" was next proposed , and was coupled with the names of Bros . Dunkley and Macgregor , who duly responded . Bio . Beard responded for "The Past Masters . " The W . M ., in submitting the toast of " The Treasurer and Secretary , " regretted that Bro . Frye had been compelled to remain at home in consequence of indisposition . He had been their Treasurer for many years , and the manner in which he discharged his duty left nothing to be desired . He hoped that Bro . Frye would live for many years to retain the office .

The Secretary having acknowledged the compliment on behalf of his absent colleague and himself , "The Health of the Officers , " coupled with the names of Bros . Wales , Strutt , and Wiltshire , terminated the proceedings , that were considerably enhanced by the instrumental and vocal gifts of Bros . Dunkley , C G . S . Graham , and his talented concert party .
