Lodge , on Saturday last , when Bro . Jas . Terry , P . G . S . B ., had the privilege of installing his son , Bro . J . E . Terry , in the chair of that lodge . The satisfaction it must have given our worthy brother to place so worthy a son and so excellent a Mason in the chair was only equalled by the pleasure experienced by those present at the perfect manner

in which the ceremonies were rendered , both by the Installing Master and subsequently by the new VV . M ., who at once performed the ceremony of initiation with the accuracy and precision of a veteran . It may be useful to the brethren of the Province of Middlesex to know the addresses of the new Provincial

In the course of a Masonic sermon delivered in New Rothesay Established Church , the Rev . W . W . Tulloch , of Glasgow , said he rejoiced to bring Freemasonry prominently before the people of the country , seeing that the Order was a great moral force , which largely helped on the redemption of the world from evil . In its lodges the peer was on a level with the peasant , and

the peasant could take precedence of the peer if he were a better Mason . Masonry was subservient to no creed or colour , ibut was at work all over the world for the moral and spiritual welfare of mankind . Grand Master Smith , of Illinois , has issued an edict , by which Freemasons in that jurisdiction are strictly forbidden to take part in processions , except funerals ,

The patronage and presence of the Earl and Countess of Lathom , the Earl and Countess of Crawford and Balcarres , and other distinguished

HOLLOWAY ' PILLS . —Changes of temperature and weather frequently upset persons who are most careful of their health , and particular in their diet . These corrective , purifying , and gentle aperient Pills are the best remedy for all defective action of the

digestive organs . They augment the appetite , strengthen the stomach , correct biliousness , and carry off all that is noxious from the system . Holloway ' s Pills are composed of rare balsams , unmixed with baser matter , and on that account are peculiarly well adapted for the young , delicate , and aged . As this priceless medicine has gained fame in the past , so will it preserve it in the future by its renovating and invigorating qualities , and the impossibility of its doing harm , —ADVT .

We are indebted to the Echo for the following ruling of Grand Lodge , which we think will be not only new to our readers but" news " to the Grand Lodge itself : — "A curious question has just been decided by the Grand Lodge of Freemasons in England . When a dispute takes place between brethren at a ' mixed' dinner ( that is to say , when Masons 'in clothing' and non-Masons are united ) , the incident cannot come officially within the cognisance of Grand Lodge . "

The 6 th August , 188 S , was the 100 th anniversary of the election of Bro . General George Washington as W . Master of the Alexandria Lodge , of Virginia , and was celebrated with becoming ceremony at Mount Vernon by brethren from Alexandria , Fredericksburg , and the District of Columbia .

The ceremony of opening the new City of London Court will be performed by Bro . Alderman Whitehead , Lord Mayor elect , early in the month of December .
