W . ; Rashleigh , J . W . ; Baldwin , Preceptor ; Stafford , S . D . ; and Cowland , I . G . Lodge was opened , and the minutes read and confirmed . The lodge was opened in the Third Degree , and the ist

Section of the Lecture was worked by Bro . Stafford , assisted by the brethren . The lodge was resumed to the First Degree . The W . M . rose for the first time , and dues were collected . The W . M . rose for the second time , and Bro . Juby was unanimously elected W . M . for the next meeting . The W . M . rose for the third time , and Bro . Juby proposed that instead of carrying out the usual

practice of suspending the meetings altogether during the summer , such custom shall only be partially observed , and the lodge meet once a month from May till October , viz ., on the first Thursday in each month , that being the regular meeting night of the Benevolent Association worked in connection with this lodge . This was seconded by Bro . Rashleigh , who commented on the increased vitality of the

lodge , which has held its meeting uninterruptedly through the winter , and owing to a largely increased and mure energetic membership will have a very bright prospect of regular and useful work during next winter and through many future years . The motion being put by the W . M ., was carried unanimously . Bro . Stafford called attention to ths first paragraph of By-law 2 , referring to annual election of officers , and it was proposed , seconded , and carried , that

for this year the officers of the lodge shall be elected on the first Thursday in June instead of the last Thursday in May . An Audit Committee , composed of Bros . ] . Andrews , Juby , and Charles Cowland was then appointed to audit the accounts of the lodge in conjunction . with the Treasurer and Secretary , and to take an inventory of the lodge , and present a report to the lodge on the first Thursday in June . This completed the business of the evening , and the lodge was closed .

STANHOPE LODGE ( No . 1269 ) . —A meeting was held on the 5 th inst ., at the Fox and Hounds Hotel , Putney , when there were present Bros . W . Tucker , W . M . ; J . H . Custance , S . W . ; J . Spooner , J . W . ; Featherstone , S . D . ; Tom Grant , J . D . ; R . Hoggin , I . G . ; Alf . Grant , Sec ; W . C . Page , P . M ., ' Preceptor ; Chumlei gh , D . Ross , Collins , E . H . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , with Bro . Collins as candidate . The lodge was then called off and on , and opened up and down . Bro . J . H . Custance was elected W . M . for the ensuing week . The lodge is a prosperous one , and good progress is being made in the learning of the ritual .

Section of the Lecture was worked by Bro . Stafford , assisted by the brethren . The lodge was resumed to the First Degree . The W . M . rose for the first time , and dues were collected . The W . M . rose for the second time , and Bro . Juby was unanimously elected W . M . for the next meeting . The W . M . rose for the third time , and Bro . Juby proposed that instead of carrying out the usual

practice of suspending the meetings altogether during the summer , such custom shall only be partially observed , and the lodge meet once a month from May till October , viz ., on the first Thursday in each month , that being the regular meeting night of the Benevolent Association worked in connection with this lodge . This was seconded by Bro . Rashleigh , who commented on the increased vitality of the

lodge , which has held its meeting uninterruptedly through the winter , and owing to a largely increased and mure energetic membership will have a very bright prospect of regular and useful work during next winter and through many future years . The motion being put by the W . M ., was carried unanimously . Bro . Stafford called attention to ths first paragraph of By-law 2 , referring to annual election of officers , and it was proposed , seconded , and carried , that

for this year the officers of the lodge shall be elected on the first Thursday in June instead of the last Thursday in May . An Audit Committee , composed of Bros . ] . Andrews , Juby , and Charles Cowland was then appointed to audit the accounts of the lodge in conjunction . with the Treasurer and Secretary , and to take an inventory of the lodge , and present a report to the lodge on the first Thursday in June . This completed the business of the evening , and the lodge was closed .

STANHOPE LODGE ( No . 1269 ) . —A meeting was held on the 5 th inst ., at the Fox and Hounds Hotel , Putney , when there were present Bros . W . Tucker , W . M . ; J . H . Custance , S . W . ; J .
