On Friday evening , the 3 rd inst ., the Wilberforce Lodge , No . 2134 , held their usual monthly meeting at the Masonic Hall , 55 , Charlotte-street , Hull , when an official visit was paid them by the W . M . and brethren of the Kingston Lodge , No . 1010 , amongst whom were Bros . W . H . Wellsted , W . M . ; H . Forder , P . M ., P . G . J . D . ; H . H . Briggs ,

the Sheriff of Hull , and several other brethren . The lodge was also honoured with visitors from a distance , notably amongst them were Bros . S . Scott Young , 2069 ; Chas . M . Tate , S . W . i 960 ; and fames lnnis , 617 . During the sitting of the lodge , Bro . W . H . Wellsted , W . M ., on behalf of the brethren of the Kingston Lodge , presented the Worshipful Master and brethren of the

Wilberforce Lodge with a handsome marble pedestal for use in the lodge , expressing the pleasure they had in so doing , and hoping it would always be looked upon as a token of their goodwill and brotherly feeling . The W . M . of the Wilberforce Lodge , Bro . T . T . DAVIS , in a most appropriate speech , moved a vote of thanks , which was seconded by the Treasurer , Bro . W . Gillett .

P . M ., P . P . G . S . B ., and supported by the Secretary , Bro . F . W . Macgarr , and carried with acclamation . After refreshments , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . Bro . H . H , BRIGGS , the Sheriff of Hull , replying to " The Queen , " said it gave him very great pleasure as the representative of the Queen , to have the honour of

replying to such an important toast upon such an auspicious occasion . Having her eldest son , our Grand Master , it allied us close to the throne of this country , and made all Masons feel justly proud , and , again , was not the lodge named the Wilberforce , after one of the greatest men of his time , and he doubted not that as Wilberforce became a great man amongst men , so should this , the youngest

lodge in Hull , become a great lodge amongst lodges . Bro . W . H . WELLSTKD , W . M ., replying for the Kingston Lodge , said how pleased he was to have had the opportunity of visiting the Wilberforce Lodge , and from the splendid working he had seen upstairs predicted that if thelodge in the future placed such excellent Masons as Bro .

T . T . Davis , the present W . M . in the chair , a great future was before them and one worthy of the name of Wilberforce . Several distinguished brethren contributed to the harmony , and a most enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the song "Auld land syne . "

Yorkshire has been always famous for its Masonic gatherings ; but the emergency meeting of the Denison Lodge , No . 1248 , held on Thursday , the 9 th inst ., for the initiation of Mr . Denison , bids fair to occupy a prominent place in the annals of Scarborough , where his father , Lord

Londesborough , is universally and deservedly popular . The flourishing Drury Lane Lodge ( of which Lord Londesborough is W . M . ) sent up its representatives tothe North , and hardly a Yorkshire lodge failed to offer its congratulations in person to the distinguished initiate . Amongst the brethren who crowded thc Temple in the Masonic Club were Bros , the Right Hon . Lord Londes-
