M . took in hand he always endeavoured to the best of his ability to discharge the duties associated with the position . Sometimes their W . M . had to travel a long

way to discharge his duties in their lodge , and that had been the case that day . Bro . J . R . Roberts , W . M ., thanked the Secretary and the brethren for their kindness . He was very proud of the high position he had the honour to hold , but did not feel himself worthy of being the second W . M . of the Fellowship Lodge . Three weeks ago he met with a serious accident , but he felt it his indurative duty to endeavour to be

present on that occasion , and he had done his duty to the best of his ability , although in a very imperfect manner . So long as he was their W . M . they cou'd rely upon him doing his best to make the lodge a success , and he sincerely trusted that when he left the chair he should have the good feeling of every member . He hoped to have plenty of work at the next meeting , and also to be in better health and give them greater satisfaction .

"The Initiates was next given , and Bro . H . J . Higgins replied in an admirable speech , and expressed Kis admiration at the impressive ceremony . He thought that any man who acted up to the dictates of manhood should be a Mason . He felt deeply indebted to the members one and all , and hoped he might always extend the hand of fellowship to any Mason , and he truttcd in return to find it extended to him . He again thanked them , and was specially indebtid to the W . M . and his proposer and seconder . The W . M . next gave "Ihe Visitors " a cordial welcome , and , in reply , Brcs . Campbell , Williams , and Turner returned thanks .

Bro . A . Ritchie , J . W . 173 , also responded ., and said he was indebted to his old friend , Bro . Welford , P . M ., lrezs ., for the inviuiion . Bro . Welford was so well known for his geniality that it would ill becu-. nc him to do more than thank him . His pleasure had been enhanced by the fact that he had kn . ) , vn the W . M . for many year . ! . To kiDiv Bro . Roberts was to love and respect him , as they all did , and they were sure that he would add lustre to that lodge as his predecessor had done . He ( Bro . Ritchie ) was also pleased to meet Bro . James Stephens , who had won golden opinions throughout the

After a well-served banquet , the customary toasts were given , the W . M . setting an example of commendable brevity . Bro . J . Stephens , Prov . G . W . Bucks , in proposing "The Health of the W . M ., " said that Bro . Roberts , their esteemed W . M ., had a very difficult task in following one so eminent and capable as their I . P . M . —Bro . Bailey , Grand Treasurer—but whatever their W . M . took in hand he always endeavoured to the best of his ability to discharge the duties associated with the position .
