love and convivial feeling they would not be true Masons He was glad to see Comp . Richardson , P . Z ., a more able companion than whom it would be difficult to find . The visiting companions having responded , The M . E . Z . proposed "The Second and Third Principals , " and said the members were acquainted with their abilities and able work . He could say a great deal per .
sonally of the H . —Comp . Mayer—whom he had known for four or five years , and during that time a brotherly feeling had been brought to bear between them , and they always had a hearty greeting outside the chapter . Comp . Alayer was a thorough good companion , and they all admired and respected him , and knew him to have the interest of the chapter at heart . He had not known Comp . Collingridsre
J ., for many years , but was pleased to think he should be supported by a companion who would , when he arrived at the position of Al . E . Z ., fully maintain the credit of the chapter . Comp . W . T . H . Alayer , H ., said that , speaking without egotism , he initiated this chapter , formed the nucleus and brought it into existence for the love of Freemasonry
and Masonic science . He did it out of pure love of the ritual and the companionship of the brethren around him . The members came from private friends , and they thus made the chapter a success . He had made many good friends in the chapter , and hoped they would never have cause to think otherwise of him . He welcomed Comp . Richardson , P . Z ., whom he had to thank for Alasonic
knowledge and instruction gained . He thanked the members most heartily for placing him in the position of H ., and hoped to aspire to the position the M . E . Z . now occupied . Comp . J . H . Collingridge , J ., also returned thanks . "The Officers" was next given , after which the Janitor's toast concluded a most enjoyable evening .
