Fund . It had been his ambition to see it exceed £ 100 . It vas gratifying to him to see it had been so successful . He thanked the brethren for assisting him to do that . At the same time he might say he thanked the officers and brethren who assisted _ him . Although he had not done the work to •* own satisfaction , he trusted it had met with the brethren ' s appreciation . He did it to the best of his ability . He had not done the installation that evening as he would
wished to have done it , but he wished to install his old friend , and he resolved that if he could do it in any way he would do it-Uros . Newbould and Perkins both replied to the toast of "The Initiates , " and said their only regret was that they had not joined the Order before . The toast of "The Visitors" followed , and Bros . Buche Harris , Scott Muller , W . M . elect oi tbe Rose Lodge , and
several other brethren responded , and Bro . Bladon was congratulated on his pluck and courage in going from beg inning to end through the ceremony of installing his successor . The toast of "The Past Masters" was afterwards 1-iven , and Bros . Brooke , Cattermole , and Cox replied ;
" The Treasurer and Secretary , " and "The Officers of the Lodge " followed , and Bro . Bowler gave the Tyler's toast . _ During the evening a beautiful programme of music was gone through by Bros . W . H . Wheeler , VV . Perring , C . Mussared , W . Sycklemore , W . H . Pocklington , Mr . Munro Ferguson , F . C . O ., and Miss Sargent .

Nell , P . M ., having notified his intention of serving as Steward at the forthcoming Festival of the R . M . B . I ., tbe sum of five guineas was voted unanimously as the contribution of the lodge to his list . Bro . Nell will be the sixth Steward from
the lodge during its short existence . Bro . VV . E . Goodwins , Professor of Music , was appointed and invested as the Organist of the lodge . After" Hearty good wishes " from the visitors , the lodge was closed . After an interval spent in walks or on the river , the brethren re-assembled for dinner . lhe usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and
honoured . Bro . Fetch , P . M ., P . P . G . Std . Br ., replying to that of ' * The Provincial Grand Officers , Present and Past . " Uro . J . G . Cobb , I . P . M ., in proposing "The Health of the VVorshi p ful Master , " said they had expected a great deal from him . He had worked with the W . M . in the lodge and in lodges of instruction for a good many years , and had always found him a painstaking and hard-working
man , one who endeavoured to carry out Masonic precepts , not only in the lodge , but in his daily life . He had conducted the affairs of the lodge in a very exemplary manner , and had done everything possible for their comfort and enjoyment . The VVorshipful Master , in reply , said : Brethren , the appreciation of my humble services , which is always expressed in such a kindly manner , is most gratifying to
me ; at the same time my innate modesty compels me to deprecate the much too flattering remarks our brother the 1 . I ' . M . has been pleased to make in proposing my health . If my management of the affairs of the lodge meets with your approval and promotes your comfort and entertainment , 1 am amply repaid for any trouble 1 may have taken , and thank you heartily for the good-will you have expressed .
I he Worshipful Alaster , in proposing " The Health of the Past Masters , " said that as this was but a young ludye they consequently had but few Past Masters , and their services were fresh in the memory of the brethren . Bro . Petch , as the father of the lodge , set an example which was worthy of imitation by any brother who might succeed to the chair . That example was not lost on Bro .

The musical portion of the evening's entertainment , tinder the direction of Bro . E . Goodwins , Organist , was again a most important feature . Bros . Moore , Hipwell , and Bickers ( members of the lodge ) , and Bros . Burgess and Upton kindly assisted in forming a really excellent programme .
CROWLE . Isle of Axholme Lodge ( No . 1482 ) . —The usual meeting of this lodge was held on Tuesday , the Cth inst ., at the Masonic Hall . Present : R . N . Brunyee , W . AL ; C . Fox , S . It was unanimously resolved that a bazaar and conversazione be held in January instead of a concert , as in former years ; Bro . Stainforth , Charity Steward , to have the management . After lodge the brethren adjourned to the Court Room for a pleasant hour .
DIDSBURY . Doric Lodge ( No . 2359 ) . —The regular meeting of this lodge was held on Saturday , the ioth inst ., at the Didsbury Hotel , Bro . Stretch , VV . M ., in the chair . There was a very large gathering , several visitors representing Europe , Asia , Africa , and America . Bro . Louis Boothroyd was raised by the W . AL , who also gave the traditional history in a most masterly manner , showing him to be a
great student of the ritual . Bro . G . A . Myers , P . M ., S . W ., gave the working tools . The lodge was then closed . Eldon Lodge ( No . 1755 ) . —Beautiful weather prevailed on Saturday , the ioth inst ., when the installation meeting of the above lodge was held at the Royal Hotel , there was a large attendance of members and visitors , and a good number of ollicers of the Provincial Grand Lodge . Boulter gave much satisfaction . After the cloth had been removed , The Worshipful Alaster proposed " The Oueen and the Craft , " and * 'The Alost VVorshipful Grand Master " in appropriate terms . Else replied as follows : VVorshipful Master and Brethren , —I wish I could find words to thank you for the kind manner in which you have drank my health , and for the fraternal way in which you have received me . I have to thank you very cordially for your kind invite to this banquet , and 1 regret I cannot remain longer for the purpose of enjoying the excellent musical programme which has been provided . I desire to express my thanks to the brethren who have materially assisted me in the ceremony of installation this
afternoon ; to Brother Appleton , who is one of the best Directors of Ceremonies it has ever been my pleasure to meet with ; to your able and efficient Organist , and last but not least , to Bro . Maby , who , having regard for his age , I am very grateful to for coming once more to assist me as Herald . The musical parts , well-performed , greatly enhances the beautiful ceremony of installation . I have to
congratulate the W . M . Thebrethren have conferred on you , Worshipful sir , a great dignity , and I think they have done a good work , and placed the right man in the right place . It has not been my pleasure to know you a very long time , but I am sure you will perform the work in a manner that will reflect honour on Lodge 1 755 . I have reason to suppose if I can come to Lodge Eldon next year
I shall hear from one and all how well you have performed the work of your arduous office . Bro . the Rev . Weatherley , P . G . Chap ., replied in a suitable speech to this toast , as did also Bros . Kice and Thebridge . Bro . E . Davey , I . P . M ., proposed the toast of " The W . M ., " which was received and drank with much
cordiality . The W . AL replied , andafter expressing his thanks , added : You have given me the greatest Alasonic honour that you can , and 1 promise you that anything 1 can do tor the welfare of the Eldon Lodge I will do g ladly . I will try to render the ceremonies in an impressive manner , and 1 ask you to credit me in advance for intending to do my level
best for the lodge . I admire our Masonic system as I think everyone must do , and the more we know about it the better we grow to a correct knowledge of ourselves . lhe W . M . submitted the toast of "The I . P . M ., " who had done so much for the lodge , and endeared himself to every member . Bro . Davey , LP . M ., returned thanks , and promised to
do his utmost in the future for Freemasonry , and in passing expressed his gratitude to his officers of the year . The Worshipful Alaster proposed * ' The Past Masters , " to whom they owed the position of the lodge and the respect in which it was held , whicli happy sentiment was acknowledged by Bros . Rice and Thebriage . " lhe Visiting Brethren" was next honoured , and was
replied to by Bro . Sallick , W . AL 1222 , in a pleasant and entertaining speech , for which he is well known , in the course of which he had pleasure in saying his lodge numbered 77 members , and they had been able to send £ 90 to the Charities this year . " The S . W . and Officers " was given , and acknowledged by Bros . Tonkin , S . W . ; G . Hazel , J . VV . ; Jeffreys , S . D . ;
and Aloore , I . G . Bro . Rice replied for "The Alasonic Charities , " and referred to the grand subscription Bro . Terry had managed to get together . The Tyler ' s toast brought the list to a close . The musical brethren included Bros . Hall , Alott , Stafford , W . K . Thomas , Dimery , Brock , Shrapnell , and Carrington , whilst the W . AL and Bro . T . Shapland contributed
recitations . A good programme was arranged , which was charmingly varied , and made additionally interesting by two violin solos by Bro . Thco . Carrington . Bros . Shrapnell and Brock presided at the piano . The afternoon was most enjoyable . The brethren separated at half-past eight to enable many to catch the last train for Bristol , and thus ended one of the most successful meetings in the history of the lodge . The
lodge room , it may be mentioned , had been artistically decorated with choice palms and shrubs from the nurseries of Messrs . Caraway , and the pedestals were rendered additionally attractive with beautiful bouquets of hothouse ilowers , made and presented by Airs . C . P . Billing . Bro . Summers then moved— "That in consideration of the long and highly valued services rendered to the lodge by Bro . Bartlett , as Organist , he be elected an honorary member of the lodge . " This was passed unanimously , and after transacting other business , the
lodge was closed . Previous to the opening of the lodge the brethren were photographed in a group at Bro . Laker's hotel , by Mr . VV . P . Robinson . A dinner was served in Bro . Laker ' s in the evening , when most of the brethren attended .

do his utmost in the future for Freemasonry , and in passing expressed his gratitude to his officers of the year . AL 1222 , in a pleasant and entertaining speech , for which he is well known , in the course of which he had pleasure in saying his lodge numbered 77 members , and they had been able to send £ 90 to the Charities this year . " The S . W . and Officers " was given , and acknowledged by Bros . Tonkin , S . W . ; G . Hazel , J . VV . ; Jeffreys , S . D . ;
and Aloore , I . G . Bro . Rice replied for "The Alasonic Charities , " and referred to the grand subscription Bro . Terry had managed to get together . The Tyler ' s toast brought the list to a close . The musical brethren included Bros . Hall , Alott , Stafford , W . K . Thomas , Dimery , Brock , Shrapnell , and Carrington , whilst the W . AL and Bro . T . Shapland contributed
recitations . A good programme was arranged , which was charmingly varied , and made additionally interesting by two violin solos by Bro . Thco . Carrington . Bros . Shrapnell and Brock presided at the piano . The afternoon was most enjoyable . The brethren separated at half-past eight to enable many to catch the last train for Bristol , and thus ended one of the most successful meetings in the history of the lodge . The
lodge room , it may be mentioned , had been artistically decorated with choice palms and shrubs from the nurseries of Messrs . Caraway , and the pedestals were rendered additionally attractive with beautiful bouquets of hothouse ilowers , made and presented by Airs . C . P . Billing .
