The business of the lodge included the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting . The announcement of the result of donations made to the
Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution at the anniversary festival ( Bro . Col . G . Noel Money , C . B ., Chairman ) on the ; Sth ultimo , which amounted to the grand total of £ 12 , 058 14 s . Gd . ( and other promised sums to come in ) , was received with applause , and congratulations to the worthy and much esteemed Secretary of that Institution , and father of this lodge , whose name it bears—Bro . Terry , P . G . S . B ., the small county of Hertford .-. hire , as usual , doing its share , the aggregate of lists from this province amounting to £ 359 < js . Gd ., ol which Bro . H . Trask , W . M ., acting as Steward , collected £ 84 . Last year the total contributed by Hertfordshire to this Fund alone amounted to £ 2106 14 s ., at which anniversary Bro . Keyser , P . J . G . W ., acted as Chairman . This lodge on that
occasion contributed upwards of £ 200 . Three brethren were raised to the Second Degree and one passed to the Third Degree . James Findlny , a most respected member of this lodge , and manager of the Royal Powder Mills at

" In the course of his reply the latter said that he had often heard the Mount Calvary Encampment highly spoken of—first on account of its undoubted

joined the Craft , and one of his first acts has been tj give pleasure to the children of his poorer brethren , The music and recitations were listened to with keen interest by the children , whose loud applause showed their thorough appreciation of a most enjoyable entertainment . " In the course of his reply the latter said that he had often heard the Mount Calvary Encampment highly spoken of—first on account of its undoubted
antiquity , secondly for its working , and thirdly for its hospitality . He hoped some day tj be allowed to enroll himself under its distinguished banner as a j oining member .
