H . the Prince of Wales , " was the next toast , and the Worshipful Master said that the usual remark in connection with this toast as to how well the Prince performed his duties was strongly evidenced by the meeting at the Albert Hall , when , at the Grand Master ' s initiative , £ 6000 had been contributed to the three great Charities . l . P . M . Bro . Pritchard responded , remarking that he would much rather perform a ceremony or give an explanation of the tracing boards than make a speech , but in this case it was easy , for they were fortunate in having good Past Masters , whose merits were so apparent that it was not
necessary to enlarge on them . For himself , he had done his best to perform jhis duties , thanks to Bro . Sudlow , who had coached him . He thanked them all heartily for the support they had accorded him during his year of office . Other toasts followed , and the brethren separated at an early hour .

Meyer , of Philadelphia , would visit the lodge on Tuesday , the 19 th inst ., and that he should call a special lodge to receive them , at which Bro . Shaw would be raised to the Third Degree , and he hoped to have a good
attendance of brethren and visitors . Bro . G . Lamb presented to the Iodge a statue of H . M . G . M . Queen Victoria , with a pedestal for the same , and was heartily thanked for his Jubilee gift . Bro . Whytehead , P . M ., also presented to the library copies of the Rev . J . lnwood ' s " Masonic Doctrines , " the Rev . T . M . Harris's " Masonic Morality , " and Dr . Ashe ' s " Masonic Manual , " emblematically bound , and also presented , on behalf of Bro . Hughan , a catalogue
of the Masonic Exhibition at Plymouth , and , on behalf of Bro . John H . Goddard , a "History of St . Patrick ' s Cathedral in Dublin . " Votes of thanks were passed for these various gifts , and , after the close of the lodge , the brethren adjourned to the smoke room , where they enjoyed a musical evening , enlivened by the voices of Bros . Mennell , Blenkin , and others .
ISLE OF MAN . —Elian Vannin Lodge ( No . 2049 ) . —An emergency meeting of this lodge was held in the Masonic Hall on the 6 th inst . The chair was occupied by the W . M ., Bro . J . Hodgson , Prov . Grand Registrar of the Province , and there was a large attendance . Business was done in the Second Degree . Among the visitors were Bros . Seymour Jackson , F . Gordon , N . Dumville , C . Reynolds , and Oliver Gaggs , all members of 2156 , Allan Avison , and
W . H . Wylde . During the after proceedings , Bro . Reynolds , who conducts the band at Duf Castle , played a solo on the oboe , an instrument ot which he is a perfect master , Bros . Jackson and Gordon ( both members of Carl Rosa ' s Opera Company ) sang , and these two brethren , with Bros .
Dumville and Wylde , sang several glees . The services of these brethren were much appreciated by the local brethren , and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to them for their services . Bro . Avison gave a short ventriloquial entertainment , and Bro . Gaggs has promised to contribute at the next meeting .

A proposal was made that a meeting of the members should be held to which ladies should be invited , and after this had been discussed and other business transacted , the lodge
was closed . The members then sat down to a banquet under the presidency of the VV . M . After dinner had been served the W . M . gave the toast of "The Queen , H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M ., the Pro Grand Master , and the Deputy Grand Master . "

With the toast of "The D . P . G . M . and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " the W . M . coupled the name of Bro . J . D . Langton , P . J . G . W . and P . M . of the
lodge . Bro . Langton , in the course of his reply , urged the members of the lodge to attend the meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge on the 27 th inst . The Immediate Past Master then proposed "The Health of the W . M ., " mentioning what a great pleasure it had been to the members of the lodge to hear the excellent
working of the Third Degree that evening . The Worshipful Master having suitably replied , proposed "The Health of the I . P . M ., Bro . Hobb . The toast of " The Visitors" was drunk and replied to by Bros . Newton and Daniels . After the toast of " The Officers , " the Tyler ' s toast

" Votes of thanks were passed for these various gifts , and , after the close of the lodge , the brethren adjourned to the smoke room , where they enjoyed a musical evening , enlivened by the voices of Bros . ISLE OF MAN . —Elian Vannin Lodge ( No . 2049 ) . —An emergency meeting of this lodge was held in the Masonic Hall on the 6 th inst . The chair was occupied by the W . M ., Bro . J . Hodgson , Prov . Grand Registrar of the Province , and there was a large attendance . Business was done in the Second Degree . Among the visitors were Bros . Seymour Jackson , F . Gordon , N . Dumville , C . Reynolds , and Oliver Gaggs , all members of 2156 , Allan Avison , and
W . H . Wylde . During the after proceedings , Bro . Reynolds , who conducts the band at Duf Castle , played a solo on the oboe , an instrument ot which he is a perfect master , Bros . Jackson and Gordon ( both members of Carl Rosa ' s Opera Company ) sang , and these two brethren , with Bros .
Dumville and Wylde , sang several glees . The services of these brethren were much appreciated by the local brethren , and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to them for their services . Bro . Avison gave a short ventriloquial entertainment , and Bro . Gaggs has promised to contribute at the next meeting .

In giving " The Health of the Prov . G . M ., Bro . General Brownrigg , " the VV . M . spoke of the high terms of appreciation in which the P . G . M . was held by all in the Province of Surrey . With the toast of "The D . P . G . M . and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " the W . M . coupled the name of Bro . J . D . Langton , P . J . G . W . and P . M . of the
lodge . Bro . Langton , in the course of his reply , urged the members of the lodge to attend the meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge on the 27 th inst . The Immediate Past Master then proposed "The Health of the W . M ., " mentioning what a great pleasure it had been to the members of the lodge to hear the excellent
