M ., and the other Provincial Grand Officers ; and on his left by the I . P . M ., Bro . Petch , the P . G . M ., the D . P . G . AL , and other Provincial Grand Officers of West Yorkshire , and about 50 of the brethren who attended the consecration

ceremony . After the banquet , the toasts of "The Oueen and the Craft , " " The M . W . G . M ., H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , " and "The Pro G . M ., the Dep . G . M ., and the rest of the Grand Officers " were given , and responded to by the brethren .

The toast of "The Prov . Grand Master , Bro . Halsey , M . P ., " when given was the signal for a hearty reception , and the W . M ., in a neat and appropriate speech , referred to the pleasure it had afforded the brethren of the Kingswood Lodge to see . him amongst them to have listened to the excellent working of the lodge in the earlier part of th ^ day , and hoped he vvould come amongst them very often .

The PROV . GRAND MASTER replied in a very telling speech , heartily welcoming the new lodge to the province , and wishing it every success and prognosticated a prosperous career if it only continued its good work as it had commenced that day . The toasts of "The D . P . G . M ., and the rest of the Prov . Grand Officers ,

Present and Past , " met with a cordial reception , and was responded to by several of the Prov . Grand Officers present . Bro . PETCH , I . P . M ., proposed " The Health of the W . M . and Success to the Kingswood Lodge , " vvhich was received by the brethren with all the enthusiasm it deserved , and showed how popular Bro . Kelley was among them .

Bro . KELLEY , in responding , thanked them for the kind and flattering reception he had had , and promised to do his utmost to merit the kind words spoken of him and hoped to carry out his duties in such a manner that the . lodge should become one of the best in the province . The toast of " The P . G . M . for West Yorkshire , the D . P . G . M . and

other West Yorkshire Brethren " was proposed by Bro . HALSEY , P . G . M . for Hertfordshire , and he tendered them the thanks of the province in coming so long a distance in such large numbers and supporting the VV . M . of the Kingswood Lodge in so hearty a manner , jand hoped they would pay many more visits from time to time .

The toast was received most heartily , and it was some time before the PROV . GRAND MASTER was able to reply . He thanked them sincerel y for the flattering reception gieen to the Province of West Yorkshire , and assured the brethren they had all been pleased with their visit and hoped to be amongst them again very soon . The toast of " The Visitors " was well received and responded to by several Provincial Brethren present .

The next toast proposed was that of " The ' . Masonic Charities , " the WORSHIPFUL MASTER mentioning the subscriptions already received from friends of the lodge . Bro . TERRY , P . G . D . C , replied , and in one of his usual flowing speeches congratulated the brethren upon the successful start they had made in regard to the Charities , and impressed upon them the necessity of keeping them up and wishing the lodge every success .

The WORSHIPFUL MASTER proposed " The Treasurer and Secretary , " which vvas heartily received by the . brethren , stating the large amount of vvork they had had in forming the lodge , the clerical work of which had mainly devolved upon the Secretary , and praising him for the way it had been carried out .

Bro . PHEASANT , the Treasurer , in reply , said he would take care the funds of the lodge were properly expended , and promised to perform his duties to the W . M . ' s satisfaction . Bro . BALL , the Secretary , thanked the brethren for so cordially receiving his name in connection with the lodge , admitting it had been very hard work to get all things properly arranged ; but he was proud to be there and see how well everything had passed off ; and he assured the brethren

nothing would be wanting on his part to make the lodge successful . He had been connected vvith many of the brethren for years past in the City in the firm of Thos . Tapling and Co ., and , from the kind support they hr . d already received from that firm , he was sure they would go on and prosper , and the motto which they had adopted , by permission of T . K . Tapling , Esq ., M . P ., " res non verba , " would prove they had the words at heart , and would carry out to the full the deeds of vvork and Charity , vvhich they all so admired .

The toast of " The Officers " vvas next given by the WORSHIPI ' MASTER . Bro . COBB , the J . W ., responded for all the officers , as time vvas getting very near for the brethren to depart . He thanked all for the hearty reception they met vvith , and trusted when the year of office was finished they vvould have the gratification of knowing they had done their duty to the satisfaction of everyone .

The Tyler s toast brought the meeting to an end at an earl y hour to enable the brethren to catch the last train to town . Altogether it vvas one of the greatest and most successful meetings held in the province , An excellent banquet was served by the proprietor of the hotel .
