highest order , and the table decorations a perfect work of art . Several Past Masters of the Craft lodges were present to do honour to the W . M ., who is highly popular and esteemed by his Masonic brethren of Cardiff and the neighbourhood . Bro . H . White , P . M . of the Tennant Lodge , supplied the Shakesperian quotations for the menu cards , which was perfectly unique in its character and was much

admired . The W . M . proved an admirable chairman , and seemed to inspire the whole assemblage . The speeches were good and to the point , and the musical programme excellent . Bro . E . Fletcher contributed greatly to the enjoyment of

the brethren by a couple of recitations , given as only a finished artiste can render them . The evening passed quickly away , and will long be remembered by those privileged to be present as one of the most enjoj'able of the yearly recurring festivals of the Langley Lodge .

NORTH LONDON CHAPTER ( No . 1471 ) . —A convocation was held 011 Monday , the ioth inst ., at the Grosvenor Hotel , Grosvenor-road ( opposite the Canonbury Railway Station ) . Present : Comps . J ohn McLaren , M . E . Z . ; J . M . Chapman , H . ; John Glass , J . ; Joseph Bailey , S . N . j J . E . Sheffield , P . S . j and several other

companions . The chapter was opened by the M . E . Z ., when the ceremony of exaltation was rehearsed , after which the election of officers took place , when Comp . J . McLaren was re-elected to the First Principal ' s chair for the ensuing fortnight . _ A vote of sympathy was passed to Comp . Dixie on his being stricken down with influenza . On the whole a profitable evening was spent .

CONSECRATION OF THE BROWNRIGG LODGE , No . 163 .

On Tuesday , the 21 st ult ., a new lodge was consecrated , entitled the Brownri gg Lodge , No . 16 3 , the name being derived from that of the Provincial Grand Mark Master , Bro . the Rev . J . Studholme Brownri gg , and in recognition of the valuable service he had rendered to Mark Masonry in the district and in the Province of Bucks , and to Craft Masonry in the Province of Berks and Bucks .

The brethren assembled at the Masonic Hall , Newport Pagnell , and after the lodge had been opened , the following brethren were elevated to the Degree of Royal Ark Mariners : Bros . J . R . Wilmer , A . J . Coales ,

E . Carr , J . Line , G . H . Sampson , Leapidge Cooper H . H . Booth , J . C . Hipwell , C . W . Guille , R . Kin * , Rev . F . Russell Harnett , Rev . W . H . Lee Harnett , rl ' J . Hippsley , H . Thody , S . L . Kilpin , F . W . Webb , and others .

Attenborough , who were down for elevation , were unavoidably absent the first-named through a severe attack of the influenza epidemic The interesting ceremony of consecrating the lodge was performed by Bro . the Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg , and Bro . C . Fitzgerald Matier , G . Sec . ( Mark ) .

CONSECRATION OF THE BROWNRIGG LODGE , No . 163 .

On Tuesday , the 21 st ult ., a new lodge was consecrated , entitled the Brownri gg Lodge , No . 16 3 , the name being derived from that of the Provincial Grand Mark Master , Bro . the Rev . J . Studholme Brownri gg , and in recognition of the valuable service he had rendered to Mark Masonry in the district and in the Province of Bucks , and to Craft Masonry in the Province of Berks and Bucks .

The brethren assembled at the Masonic Hall , Newport Pagnell , and after the lodge had been opened , the following brethren were elevated to the Degree of Royal Ark Mariners : Bros . J . R . Wilmer , A . J . Coales ,
