It was also unanimously agreed that a pension of £ 100 a year should be granted to Miss Redgrave , who has been compelled to resign the position of Head Governess owing to the complete breakdown of her health after having been 31 years in the service of the Institution .
The Committee of Management of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution held their regular monthly meeting a % Freemasons' Hall on Wednesday afternoon under the presidency of Bro . J . A . Farnfield , P . A . G . D . C , Treasurer . The Secretary reported the
deaths of one Male and one Widow Annuitant and one accepted candidate . Three petitions ( one Male and two Widows ) were dealt with and the names ordered to be placed on the lists of candidates for election at the annual general meeting in May , 1901 .
* The 32 nd Anniversary Festival in aid of the Mark Benevolent Fund , which was held at Freemasons ' Tavern on Wednesday , the nth instant , under the presidency of the Earl of Euston , M . W . Pro G . Mark
Master , proved , as was generally expected , an unprecedented success . Over 300 ladies and brethren gave their services as Stewards , and when the Grand Secretary announced the result it appeared that the total of the Donations and Subscriptions | was . £ 5113 . The
announcement was greeted with hearty cheers from all parts of the Hall , and Lord Euston was most cordially congratulated on his great fortune in occupying the chair on what proves to be far and away the record year in the annals of the Mark Benevolent
Fund . When all did their work so well , it would not do to quote any special Returns , but a reference to the figures will show that the Chairman , London , and West Yorkshire accomplished great things on this occasion . We hold over till next week our usual analysis of the contributions .
Profound regret will be felt throughout the Craft at the loss sustained through the death , on Friday , the 6 th instant , of Bro . Richard Eve , Past Grand Treasurer of Grand Lodge and G . Chapter , and Chairman of the Board of Management , as well as a
Trustee and Patron of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . Bro . Eve had taken an active part in Masonry for upwards of 40 years , his chief services having been rendered in the Province of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight , in Grand Lodge , since he was elected G . Treasurer in 188 7 ; and in connection with
the Boys' School , of which , since its reorganisation on its present basis , in 18 91 , he had been the presiding spirit . We tender our most respectful sympathy to his relatives and numerous friends , to his Province , and more especially to his colleagues in the management of the Boys' School , who more than any ot us must be able to appreciate the greatness of the loss we have sustained .
