To the Editor of the "freemason . " Dear Sir and Brother , I observe in a recent number of the 'Freemason a suggestion that the M . W . G . M . should make a further distribution of Masonic honours to mark thc occasion of his Silver Wedding . I can see no sufficient grounds for this . His Royal
Highness ' s Silver Wedding is a pleasing domestic event , and so are hundreds of others which annually occur ; but in no way marks an epoch like the Jubilee of her Gracious Majesty , who has shown herself to be one of the greatest of European sovereigns , and whose reign has conferred
incalculable blessings upon her subjects . In support of my views , I may point to the fact that , whilst numerous public honours were distributed to maik the Jubilee , the Queen has not thought it necessary to bestow any upon the occasion of the Silver Wedding . — Yours fraternally , P .
